playing as devils advocate here lol as i dont believe in hell in the sense that christians do, i was raised catholic and was thought that jesus went to hell after death be for ascending to heaven. this is in the bible ...err ... somewere i guess. I was actually watching a thing on hell on the history channel yesterday and for the most part SHALE in the Jewish bible evolved into HELL in the new testament which is described in the KING JAMES bible as the gnashing of teeth. yes hell is in the bible but its propaganda and not something i think jesus spoke much (if at all ) about.

What are you talking about? Have you ever read anything about Jesus? Of course there is Hell and Paradise. I don't mean to be rude, but please read some stuff on it first, before you start formulating opinions. It is not safe walking around believing hell doesn't exist. Then what's the point of being good? Or bad? If there r no consequences?
Oh by the way, Jesus was Muslim. He believed in only ONE God, like all the other prophets and Messengers. And he will come back at the end of time, and he will fight the Dajjal. You should read about what Muslims believe about Jesus. You will learn a ton, like that Jesus wasn't even crusified, knowledge that you could never get from the bible or any 'christian' scriptures. I'm sure you didn't believe that Muslims believe in Jesus too. Oh yes we do. Jesus came only 600 years before Prophet Muhammad. Peace be upon them both. And read what the Koran says about Jesus and Mary. You'll be amazed. And the Koran hasn't been changed for 1400. Since it's revelation 1400 years ago. So everything you read in there, every letter, is original, (unlike the bible).

There is no such thing as hell as in hades as in burning for all eternity yadda yadda yadda, hell is a state of thought i.e. we create our own hell.
I don't believe in hell and I am Jewish, unfortunately there are people who do believe in the netherworld which is why people fear the unknown - or in many cases that which has been proven. At the end of the day no matter what or who you are even if there is 99% positivity the negative 1% will be of a persecutory nature.

If I may get technical, Jesus accepted hell as a fact.
However, he never once thought there was a fire there for tormenting.
He knew, being Jewish, hell is the grave, 6 feet under.

Hello. The concept of a Heaven or of a Hell is a strange one to me. I wish it could be proven beyond belief that either exist. I wonder if,as a species alone in the universe,we actually created both as something to reach out to when our lives are ending.

I also wonder if Hell is actually the lives that we lead here on Earth. Heaven seems to be a place we go to once our Hell on this Earth has ended.

I further wonder, religion aside, if the concept of both was created by mankind itself.

Jesus actually did describe what most interpret to be Hell - fire that burned forever, ungodly heat, horrible stench and suffering - what he was actually describing was Gehenna, which was a dump where they burned all the garbage from Jerusalem. Of course, for political reasons (population control, obedience to the church) Christian and Catholic leaders later translated this into the Hell you tell you children about to scare them into being good.

No hell.
There's a huge Bible worshiping cult that believes in that.
Followers of the teachings of Christ know better.

God loves us and wishes no destruction on us.
We hate us and wish destruction on us.
We are the ego of God and by usurping his power we pronounce judgment on ourselves.
There is hope by virtue of the fact that we can stop being self-serving and become creatures of love and then join the awareness of God.

Faith in hell is a delusion formed by fear.
Freedom of fear comes when we stop judging one another, without judgment there is no fear.
To replace fear one must become love.
Direct conversion of fear to love.
It is the nature of converting death to life and it is the resurrection.

Hell is a term taken far to literal.

Perhaps two thousand years from now people will read our literature and think many have inappropriate relations with our mothers because we use the words initialed "MF" so much now.

The lesson of course is to not be so literal, its embarrassing, proves ignorance and creates fear.

Of course Jesus believed in Hell. That's what He came to save us from. Remember we study the Bible...not the FSM manual.

Dear,

I'm a Muslim. I belief in all prophets as in the Quran. All in the Bible are in the Quran of 30 Juz and 6666 verses from the Sky to Muhammad the last prophet that brought Islam and Quran. Prophet Muhammad does not know how to read and writes. Quran to prophet Muhammad took 23 years to complete.
I don't think that way. Jesus is prophet by God and being given Scriptures Bible for Christianity. Prophet has direct contact with God through Cabral. God teaches Jesus and given extra to Jesus. Jesus talk when he was Infant. Jesus make alive from dead. If Jesus being given extras and given Scriptures by God, Of course knows much more then about Hell.

Perhaps you would like to look up Jesus's parable about Lazarus the beggar and the rich man. It quite clearly depicts Hell. You'll find it in Luke, 16: 19-31.
