Quite realistic. My wife is great and we are equal partners in a relationship heading in the same direction. Many women today do not like to think that anyone can tell them what to do one way or another. How sad for them they choose to disobey God our Father and Creator. Divorce rates aren't at 50% out of coincedence or chance, it's because people fail to listen to God.

I've heard some men try to use the concept of the "Proverbs" woman to justify their backward ideas that women should be subservient, which I definitely disagree with. To me, the woman described in Proverbs 31 is not a meek, cringing doormat, but an extremely strong woman. It baffles me that some men boast that they have a "Proverbs 31 wife", and then treat her as if she has no other function than serving as a kitchen slave and a baby factory. The Proverbs 31 woman is mentioned as working and engaging in commerce. She's a strong-minded business woman. Of all the Bible verses that some people use to keep women down, this is definitely the wrong one to cite, because it suggests a very strong woman. Is it possible for such a woman to exist today? Yes, and more so now than ever.

Entirely. The author, King Lemuel, was in fact writing about his own mother.
Consider the woman. Sounds quite equal, doesn't she?
Liberated, but in her God-given role.

It was realistic in the time it was written. I am sure there are still many women similar to this.

Certainly not a modern woman, or one available today, which is mightily sad.

It describes the ideal wife.
Any woman who gets halfway to that description is to be highly commended.
