The basis of your faith shouldn't need daily examination, but something that affirms your faith does. Use your Bible or other tools (whatever suits your beliefs) to substantiate your beliefs and then you will be wiser for the wear. It never hurts to study up.

Science, technology and general education is constantly providing new information to use when trying to understand religious teachings that have been handed down in narative form from people during the last 2,000 to 4,000 years at least. These were written with the knowledge available so long ago and even when they were true should be considered today in the light of what we know today. It makes no sense to try to inocently accept them verbatum as written in such primitive times. You should always re-examine your faith as every new opportunity arises.

It is now realistic to ask questions about the bible without disbelieving it, but in the light of modern interpratations of recorded events.

Could there have been more than one God, if not why did God tell his people that they must worship him and no other. Why would He say "I am a jealous God" if He was all powerful, the only God?

Why is the God of the Isrealies so similar to the Egyptian Gods they worshiped 1500 years BC when they lived in Egypt and why at the end of our prayers do we say Amen, the name of one such God at that time.

Why is it said that God made Adam and Even from the dust of the Earth and breathed life into them, first making Adam then making Eve from his rib, a bit like cloning? and why was the Tree of Knowledge (computer) off limits and the forbidden fruit (software) forbidden?

Has the internet lost our innocence today and do our leaders try to forbid it for fear we know too much and ask too much?

A true Christian makes a daily walk. The master said that we should not take up much thought for tomorrow, what we will eat, wear, etc Therefore, a daily life requires a daily reflection leading to growth and refinement. It is is the moment that we see the next best step and leap in faith, not by worrying about or putting off today's things into the future.

LOL the first answer above! He examins the BIBLE daily, he said nothing about examining his faith. Typical for a Christian to end-run on a question. IMHO.

I don't ... it's called faith! your faith may be tested from time to time. "basis" of faith? well that could be addressed many ways depending on if you are referring to the spiritual or having faith your alarm awakens you each morning or that the car starts each time you turn the key! ????????

Constantly and objectively. Just examining it and saying that asserting it is right because you believe it is, is simply blind, unjustified faith.

You should read and do reasearch all the time. But as far as your personal faith. It should never change unless you discover you were wrong the whole time.

I examine the Bible daily. I don't know how often one should though.

If you are convinced of your faith, then you needn't question it, at least for your own sake. For myself, I have to think about it, do research and make up my mind each day.
