The issue is that you took something that is in a text format, and you scanned it into an Image format.
Uncompressed images are usually very large. You could use MSPAINT and save it as a different file type (JPG is a compressed format) and that will make it much smaller.
But, what you really should do is see if the scanner software has text-recognition built in. That way you can save it as a word document and be able to edit the resume.

If you scanned the resume in using a sanner, you have converted them to pictures of the resume pages, rather than being text. That will make the files huge.
You need to retype the resume in a word processor (such as MS Word) and save them in that format (doc extension). If you do not have Word, go to http://openoffice.org and download the free clone of Word called Open Office.
If you send the resume as a doc file it will greatly reduce the size. Plus most businesses are better able to open and read text files then they are picture files.

I have not heard of any software that splits PDF files to smaller parts, but there are some freeware/shareware software that can split ANY TYPE OF FILE into smaller pieces... Use Google to search for them, and use "FILE SPLITTER FREEWARE" as keyword. Best of luck

It a matter of no: of pages....U can try reducing the font size and mail it,which will result in lesser no of pages being sent...Or zip the file and send it...
