Not if you are lifting light weight, using good posture and doing lots of reps...Don't try and lift to see what you max is. Just take it easy, you'll get strong and hell and look great.

Most thirteen year old boys still have open growth plates (epiphyses) at the ends of the long bones. These are the weakest points of the bones. Although this is not common, good sense dictates that you lift only moderate weights and take care that your repetitions do not induce fatigue.

I remember watching a programme a while ago where there was a young child like you on it. I believe it can stunt your growth if you're not careful. I think you can only lift so much so many times a day.

weight training is a good and healthy hobby.if anything it will improve your health for the future.it will strengthen bones and turn your body in to a calorie burning machine.Dont just jump in though and start lifting,put in a practice session with light or no weight.This will help you work out how to perform the excercises correctly.there is weight lifting and there is weight lifting correctly.and safely.

I have heard that weight training during adolescence can stunt growth. 5 minutes sounds ok though. Check with a professional at the gym or better still your doctor.

Heavy weight lifting I believe can stunt your growth. I would recommend just doing body weight exercise. Like push ups, pull ups and dips. Your body can't damage itself but you can make it stronger with these basic exercise.

You need advice on these sort of sports as in your enthusiasm to do well you can actually overdo things
