I really want to start an event with community service. Ive never started something before. How do you go about starting an event such as a marathon or anything. I have no idea. Please help. any procedures??

Great question.
Well I think first you could get in touch with the charity you want to help out and see if they have a fund raising person who could help you. Most charities don't allow their name to be put on an event without some knowledge, and most charities would be happy to help you set up something.

If you have an organization you want to help do this for, you need to get them on board with your idea so you can get some help from them.
If you are starting a new organization from scratch, you will need to start an organization, then get a 501C-3 nonprofit educational organization charter in your state.
Check with your local library for more information.

Marthon.. Well you can go around door to door and let them know you are running for whatever charitable event it maybe and you can also see if they would like to sign up make signs and stick them in your local grocery store or walmart and see if you get any responce it should be a GREAT RACE!!!!!
