I know these may be relative in different situations. Actually I am not asking for myself but just a general qun. But these are cardiovascular exercises & that's one reason I don't want to do any of them on a regular basis, because I am actually building muscle mass as well as fitness though I am 40. I am frm India & I would appreciate answers from personal trainers/fitness professionals & also bodybuilders.
Thanks.........

in general, swimming would be the best overall workout because it uses the most muscle groups... not only that, but with swimming you can utalize different swim strokes (backstroke, freestyle, butterfly, ect...) which can target different areas of the body... they are all good, but if i had to choose only one it would be swimming

hope that helps...

actually, you should do cardio before you do your muscle building exercises. cardio brings oxygenated blood to your muscles so you can workout more effectively and helps get rid of the carbon dioxide waste from those same exercises. alternating cardio and weights makes your muscles work more efficiently. swimming and brisk walking are the best. cycling doesn't use all your muscles and jogging is hard on your leg joints.

Cycling
then Swimming
then Jogging
then Brisk Walk, last choice!

Do DAILY stretching first, to loosen up the muscles, so blood with flow better thru. Good blood flow makes good muscle mass and definition.

Then do DAILY aerobics, such as cycling. Increase blood flow thru the muscles, for good muscle mass and defintion.

Weight lifting burns more calories and tones and develops your muscles faster and quicker as for running is mostly a cardio exercise and stretches the muscles.
