I use these all year round about 3 times a week however during winter is when it is most effective. I have flaky skin during this season as well and when I exfoliate I follow up with their lotion usually the same scent. Not only will you smell fabulous, you will feel softer then ever. When you hop out of the shower every day, slather yourself in baby oil. It locks in the moisture from your shower and keeps your skin softer.
Also, I suffer from extreme dry skin, so I use Eucerin calming creme lotion every day, and it works magic on my dry winter skin. My doctor has recommended Eucerin products for dry skin all my life, and they are without a doubt the most intense moisturizers your skin will ever see. They are also unscented so they are very gentle, as well. I highly, highly recommend their products for stubbornly dry skin. In a single day, they can transform flaky dry skin, to soft and smoothe.

I can tell you a common Indian system to keep skin fresh and soft during winter. Simply put one drop of any baby oil in the navel before you go to sleep. I do not know how this works but I keep doing it as my mother told me to do.

If its really bad use medicated lotions, call for nurse's advice cause I know how that can get irritating. Other than that use a specific body wash and lotion that promotes extra oils to keep your skin from drying. Try olay products or neutrogena.
