There is no real proof for the existence of Nessie but no proof she doesn't exist either.

Hmmm, aren't you missing out the difference in the level of fiction here?

The Scriptures are really great fiction and Mohammad's work is too good!

But look at all the credulous people they've conned for centuries!?

Nessie is clearly out of this league.

Cheers!

You're comparing Nessie w/Islam/Christianity? You're a walking genius!

I'll describe the 3 to you. Christiniaty is a beautiful religion which has turned into something else by the hands of different authors who tampered with the Bible. It was then God's reaction to send the Qur'an, which validates the Bible. And God promised that this time His holy scripts will not be changed, edited, or tampered with. The Qur'an is not just a book about religion, it has many scientific features, it has a biological section, talks about the solar system, position of the sun and it's importance in relation to the surrounding planets, it talks about the mountains, water cycle, it talks about everyday life that humans face- whether it's related to marriage, divorce, friends, neighbors, etc. It talks about how the embryo develops in different stages LONG before scientists even were able to figure it out. Therefore, it is not just a religion, it is a way of life. It is a book of guidance in things other than just religion. Anybody who is seeking faith, but also want to keep their sanity and live logically, and to explore the world around themselves, the Qur'an is the perfect script. It has never contradicted itself. However, beware of those who take the Quranic verses out of content. There are many Christians and non Muslims who take a sentence out of the Qur'an, add and delete their own messages in order to mold it into something the Qur'an isn't. Which leads us to understand why the Bible isn't original anymore, because it has been changed by people with their own agendas and Christians are blindly falling into these traps.

And the lochness monster, it is not something that should validate your faith. In fact, I think it's pathetic how a huge living monster hasn't been found in a lake yet scientists have detected bacteria which the naked eye can't even see. Whether Nessie exists or not, I'm not going to go crazy over wondering about it.

No, believing something doesn't make it a religion. It makes it a belief. This doesn't mean you couldn't take those beliefs and start your own religion though.

Religion is simply an institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

Say your belief in the all knowing and powerful Nessie dictates that we should never pollute our lakes, never eat fish or other water creatures, and once a year you must travel to the promised land of Loch Ness and bathe yourself in the water. NOW you've got a religion.

Over 11,000 people claim to have seen Nessie. Why would all those people lie, if all they have to gain is ridicule? If 11,000 people claim to have seen something, then maybe they have seen something.
And it isn't just Loch Ness - similar creatures have been seen in deep lakes all over the world. They all describe it as a plesiosaur.
This doesn't make sense to the evolutionist, who has been brainwashed to believe that dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. But it makes perfect sense to the creationist who believes that the Earth was created 6,000 years ago, 4,400 years ago there was a worldwide flood, and dinosaurs have lived alongside man for several thousand years - thus the ancient "dragon" legends. It would also make sense that maybe a few species are still alive today.

Believing in a great lake-inhabitting-beast would certain add a touch of glamour to a few people's lives, but Nessie if he/she exists can't do anything for you, unless you had stunning photos and could sell them to Daily Record, Sun and other tabloids. Biographies of christians and the New Testament indicate God can change lives.

Compared to christianity and islam there is an overabundance of proof for the existance of nessie. At least there are photos (that have not been proven to be hoaxes yet) that could provide proof. What do you have with christianity? a 2000 year old book and a dream. I'll buy into nessie's existance before i buy into christianity or islam!

At least the Nessie belief is more fun, and the Nessians books are more amusing than the lame Bible or Koran.

A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.

Belief and worship are two different things. Even the devil *believes* in God and Christ. Therefore I don't know too many people who worship Nessie. Poor gal...

The man that produced the hoax of Nessie admitted it on his death bed.
If we could just get Jesus to admit it too...we'd be all set.
