We usually go with Red for red meat, white for white meat and yellow for veg etc. The coloured ones from Ikea with Microban are very good.
Do not think there is an official system.

For commercial kitchens, the colour code is... Red = Raw meat Blue = Raw fish Yellow = Cooked meat or fish Green = Salads Brown = Vegetables White = Bread & dairy products For personal kitchen food hygeine, I recommend the "Legitim" plastic boards from IKEA, of all places. A big red one (for raw meat & fish) costs just £1.29 and a pair of big and little white ones (for everything else) is just £1.39.

You can use what system you wish, though the convention is:

Red Raw Meat
Blue Raw Fish
Yellow Cooked Meat
Green Salads & Fruit
Brown Vegetables
Black Bakery & Dairy

I'm pretty sure you can get posters showing the above codes, handy if you or your colleagues forget . . .

There is a strict colour code for each board, but I`m colour board so always have to ask. You can buy charts to identify each one.
