Contact each consulate and ask.

If you are going as part of a package deal, you won't have to worry too much about that, as the travel agent will provide that with the package. The (most) obvious thing you will need is your passport. :D

Incidentally, pay VERY close attention to any/all travel advisories issued by your goverment's State Department (or equivalent). There are several places in the world where tourists (esp. if you're an American) are risking their lives simply by being there.

As far as the us is concerned, you only need 1 - a passport. That's assuming you wont be working or staying for any significant period of time you're considered a visitor. I would try calling consulates once you've mapped out the route you want to take to try and see who requires what. Also, check for open borders.

?? Aren't Hanoi and Saigon in the same country?
I suggest you take a look at the map first, count how many countries (not cities) are you traveling to. Then contact those countries consulates or embassies.

this is an important question, so your best bet is to contact your local embassy. get the exact answers instead of just assuming, and apply for your Visa(s) while you're at it.
