He should have a go at sales, an area he's familiar with would be best. Stay away from network marketing though, as you can see by James above me there, it's an underhanded type of busness where you're not incouraged to be upfront with people.

I would recommend something in the computer field if he was a market trader because he might be able to use some of his skills there.

Does your husband like dealing with people?
Does he like being his own boss?
Does he enjoy the idea of helping other people improve their lives?
Is he prepared to work hard to achieve what he wants out of life?
Does he like the idea of earning an unlimited income?
If he answers yes to these questions he should look at the business that I am doing.
I am not promising it is for him but it costs nothing to have a look.

Only your husband can answer this question, the problem most of us have is that we don't know what we want or what we would like/be good at. I would recommend purchasing the book What Color is Your Parachute. This will give him ideas to pursue that fit his personality.

plumber is good pay.

depends on whether he wants a profession (suit, desk job) or wants a more manual out and about job.

whatever he does he is gonna have to train for a few years at least.

maybe he could move into removals.
