Read the passage carefully: God brought the species to Noah. I'll trust God's ability to tell, if I trust He made "all things".
Also, how do you know that Noah was unable to tell the difference?

He was sent the animals he did not have to choose any... and remember there was 7 of each kind of clean animal not two as some imagine. That was only the unclean.

he was told to bring 2 of every type as far as I know god did not say make them male & female > just get 2 man assumed he meant male and female because there are male & female of most all the other types of animals you see today.

If you take religion as true and the Noah story literally, it follows implicitly that god would make sure they were a breeding pair.
Religion is only a story though.
