It sure has been! It is on Mt. Ararat, apparently broken into 2 pieces. It has been photographed several times from the air, since it obviously cannot be see up close due to the area it is located - very high and steep elevation. Even the Smithsonian has done articles on it.

No. I read where the hewn timbers discovered turned out to be parts of an old cabin or shelter.

I don't think God would allow it to be found (i.e. the ark of the covenant as well)
