I feel like I've been looking for a girl too long without getting anywhere. (I dont mean one-night). A lot of the people here suggest to stop looking because that's when it happens but I dont know anyone who had stopped looking and met someone in a banal place like the store or something. I could concentrate on something else but I feel like time will fly without anything happening.

Absolutely, stop looking. I have found love on more than occasion when I just stopped looking. Just concentrate on being the best "You" that you can be.
I know this sound a little corney, but it works. But, you have to really trust it. Don't expect it to work over night. Just forget about meeting someone. Find a new interest, learn French, go on an interesting journey by yourself. Anything, just "Shake it up" and distract yourself from your search by getting busy doing interesting things.
I promise you, in the meantime, you will meet someone great. And you won't even realize it until it has already happened.
For reference. I am 42. At the age of 40, I met my present wife. It happend just as I said above, I was busy doing sometning interesting, and I just met her. and that was that. We're very happily married now.

Yup. I stopped looking after a wing-dinger of a divorce. Figured I was better off being unattached than to have to deal with that stuff again. Then wham...8 years later I meet a woman in a chat room, start talking and hit it off like crazy. Now I'm married almost 7 years to that woman. All because I wasn't so desperately in need.

I worked in a grocery store as a front line manager, so I was constantly being hit on. I made it very clear each time that I wasn't interested in dating anyone and I hadn't for 2 years. One day this guy came in to talk to his mom (one of the cashiers that I worked with). I instantly knew I wanted to get to know him and hear we are almost 4 years later, happily married :)

Honestly thats what happened to me. I broke up with my boyfriend about a month ago and vowed to stay single for a little while and concentrate on my family and career path. But it just so happens, a wonderful guy just kind of dropped into my life and it went from there. So it can happen, but if youre tired of waiting maybe try some online dating or personals sites?
