I just had an interview with OfficeMax about an hour ago. I think I did pretty well. The interviewer said that they would try to get me in for a second interview, that they would call me at the end of this week or the first of next week.

I wore a red and darker red striped shirt and khaki slacks with shiny shoes. I think it was a success. Was it? I mean, he could have said "We'll be calling you, or we'll be in touch". But he didn't. he gave me a time that he would call. Right?

Also, I don't know what to wear to the second interview -- should I wear a tie and dress shirt? or a different shirt with black slacks?

Thanks

Dress up next time with a tie and dress shirt. The second interview may be with more management and that will be your initial impression with them. A second interview was probably made due to seeing if the first was even worth them advancing to the next interview before upper management met with you... Always best to dress up than not be dressy enough.

How was the interviewer dressed Depends what sort of job but I would err on the conservative side and wear a tie. The things people notice seem to be your neck style (tidy or untidy) and your shoes (clean or not) In my own case I have always had to control my hair which has more in common with wild grass.

I think a tie would be a good idea.
