I think it may be because of the huge Christian egos. I'm a theist and have many Atheist friends. It's a simple matter of respecting the fact that they don't believe as I do, nor do they need to.

No we can't be friends. I usually don't insult someone that I want to be friends with. Besides with your ego so big, there isn't any room for me around you.

No it's not because of ego's. That's a dumb idea! We are supposed to be nice to oneanother, but avoidwhat we can that does not believe in the Lord.

We can't be friends because the very first thing you said to me was an insult. I'm friends with people who don't insult me.

That was a bit of a backhanded peace offering.

I can be friends with religionists--assuming they are keeping their religion off my Constitution.

I used to be Christian. Now I'm atheist, and I've made friends who are Hindu, Muslim, etc.
