I think it may be because of the huge Christian egos. I'm a theist and have many Atheist friends. It's a simple matter of respecting the fact that they don't believe as I do, nor do they need to.

No we can't be friends. I usually don't insult someone that I want to be friends with. Besides with your ego so big, there isn't any room for me around you.

I used to be Christian. Now I'm atheist, and I've made friends who are Hindu, Muslim, etc.
