Come to Manhattan, the most exciting city in the US. It is an expensive city but you can live in some less expensive areas in NYC. There are people from all over the world, many places to visit, and great parties (my irish friends love to go out and of course to drink).

good luck!

Depends on you, your taste, your budget, your priorities. The Woodlawn neighborhood in the Bronx is full of Irish immigrants and relatively inexpensive, but it's also a good long ways away from Midtown and downtown Manhattan. Every part of the city is right for someone -- if you have no idea where you want to move, come visit first.

Live in Brooklyn and save alot of cash. Great neighborhoods in Brooklyn include Park Slope and Bay Ridge. Both are a 20 minute train ride to Manhattan.
