Ive read so many people comparing Christianity to Catholics. And to enlighten the subject: Catholics not = to Christians. Do i need to say it 653,451 times?

To be a Christian, you need to be Kind, Respectful, Honest, Trustworthy, Brave, Industrious, Patient, the list could go on forever. AND you must fit ALL of those to be a Christian, not to mention you should learn from your mistakes and strive to improve. Also, no human has the right to edit the Bible. if you edit it, you're breaking the law.

Now, does the Catholic Church have at least ONE of those? History tells us otherwise, therefore: Catholics not = to Christians.

So please, don't use the Cath.Church(which just "pretends" to be true) or any other pretentious, false church to symbolize Christianity, cuz they aren't and we have proof of it in the history books.

To those who ask, im not biased, because i have evidence.

Agree with my opinion towards people who say Christianity = Catholics?

please, no pottymouths okay.

Catholics are 100 Christians. The history of Catholicism started in the first century itself. All happenings from that date are documented. All other groups came into existence subsequently.

It is true that Catholic church committed certain mistakes or blunders during past. Most of them are corrected. Whenever there were mistakes, the church authorities acknowledged them and took corrective measures.

The new generation christians like protestants, brotheren, yehovah's witnesses etc have no history at all. They simply terrify common people by exaggerating the sufferings, hell etc and extract the hard earned money of the ordinary citizens in the name of 10 percentage.

Let's take this one piece at a time. Shall we?

<>

No, I do not agree. Not all Christians are Catholic but all Catholics are Christians.

<>

You seem to think that, if you through it against the wall enough times, eventually it will stick. A Truth is a Truth, and a fallacy is a fallacy. The Truth of the matter is Catholics are Christians.

<>

This sounds like a scout oath or something. Actually, the bare minimum of what makes one a Christian is to believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and accept Him in Faith as Lord and Savior. There you have it.

<>

Well, not necessarilly. While a Christian should be kind, respectful, honest, trustworthy, brave, industrious, and patient, it is possible for one to be a Christian, lack some of the qualities mentioned above, and still be a Christian.

To think one's status as a Christian can be completely undone by a random act of unkindness, disrespect, dishonesty, untrustworthyness, cowardess, a lack of industriousness, and/or impatience is to have a recklessly symplistic, and frankly - shallow - view of what a Christian really is.

<>

Is this a double standard? Divinely inspired human authors wrote the Bible. So why can it not be "editted" by Divinely Inspired editors?

I find it very telling that you accuse the Church of "unlawfully editting" the Bible but you do not furnish any examples of this alleged "unlawful editting". Logic suggests you did not provide evidence because you were either unwilling to or unable to.

It makes no sense for you to be able to, and not do it, so I have no choice but to presume you have no proof, thus making your claim bogus.

Since you have failed to prove Catholics don't beleive Jesus is the Son of God and have accepted him as Lord and Savior, you have decidedly failed to prove Catholics are not Christians.

So please, don't use the Cath.Church(which just "pretends" to be true) or any other pretentious, false church to symbolize Christianity, cuz they aren't and we have proof of it in the history books.

Yes, you are biased. You seem to claim that Catholics are not kind, respectful, honest, trustworthy, brave industrious, patient, and ... others. If your "evidence" is that you know Catholics that are not some of these things, hence Catholics are not Christians, then someone could use your same argument to say no one is Christian. It would not be hard to find someone of every church that is not all of those thing in your infinite list.

I agree that the Catholic leadership in the past has not been those things in your list. In fact the Catholic leadership has been responsible for some of the most horrible and evil acts in history. The Crusades, and the more recent protection of child-molesting priests as examples. All Catholics, however, would say that those acts do NOT represent what Catholicism is about though. I'm sure people of every religion have done some horrible things...that does not invalidate the religion as being Christian though.

What makes someone a Christian is how they live their lives, treat others, and love God AND Jesus.

I agree with you that Catholics are not Christians, but I have to disagree with you about what it is to be a Christian because there are many non-Christians that are the things you mentioned and some non- Christians are better at those things than Christians are. None of those things can save a peson but they should be qualities of a Christian.
Catholics are not Christians because they do not believe Ephesians 2:8-9; For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. They do not believe that it is grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone. The all sufficient atoning work of Christ is not enough for the Catholic. They believe that they must add to what Christ has done such as grace being infused at infant baptism and doing penance, confessing their sins to a priest, purgatory, saying a number of hail Mary's, saying the rosary, and many other rituals, praying to Mary, praying for the dead, etc; so they add works to what Christ has done.
Catholicism is one of the major false religions that are leading millions of people to eternal damnation and the pope and the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church are exalted above the Word of God. Most Catholics are not even familiar with the teachings and history of their own religion. But unlike the other false religions such as the JW's, Muslims and Mormons they do believe in the diety of Christ, and the Trinity. They along with the others must be prayed for, loved and treated with respect because they are lost, and decieved, and only God can reveal the truth to them just as He has done for us. We would not know and understand the truth either if it was not for the mercy and grace of God.

Depends on your definition of Christian. And your question is redefining what it means to be Christian. You do not even mention believing in Jesus Christ.

Most non-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A very few do not.

The World Council of Churches which brings together more than 340 churches, denominations and church fellowships in over 100 countries and territories throughout the world, representing some 550 million Christians accepts the 1.1 billion Catholics as Christians. http://wcc-coe.org/wcc/who/faq-e.html#07

A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

Catholics would fit this definition.

In the Nicene creed, from 325 C.E., Catholics profess:

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.

Through Him all things were made.

For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.

On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

We truly are spiritually "born again," we just don't usually use those words.

For a complete description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm

With love in Christ.

The Protestants and Roman Catholics who believe this:
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. ( John 3)

are saved. There is a chance, that they will do this. According to Jesus Christ, who did not mention Protestant or Catholic, aid what he said. And if you read the Greek, the word believe is trusting. Even the Roman Catholics have a chance to do this. Not all Roman Catholics do this, and neither do all Protestants. I have known both. But what the Catholics have against them is many, many objects of worship which get in their way WITHIN THEIR VERY DOCTRINE.

Some Protestant churches are no better. I have been to a Lutheran church in the City of Orange, California where they 'channel' their prayers through the minister who channels them through the large statue of Jesus before them all. That is idolatry in it's purest form. I never went there again. And neither did I channel my prayers through them.

But I hope that God can forgive them for their sins if he can forgive me for mine.

This saying that Catholics are not Christians is presumptuous. It doesn't cover the whole field. And I would persuade you from ceasing this talk in favor of the Gospel message. If God wants those who think another way, He will make it apparent. Preach Christ - that's our job, and let God work His work in them. . . . . please.

As you surely know, Jesus last name was not "Christ." He was called the Christ, meaning the Messiah. Later, those who followed his teachings were referred to as Christians.
The source of the Catholic church was the monarchies of Europe, who were actually "Papists," put in power by kingly decrees.
Then came the Reformation, which made the Catholic church a lot less popular with the common man, which is the beginning of our current christianity, splintering into sects and differing in the interprtations of the bible.
So to try to equate Catholicism with Christianity is a little like equating mules with horses.

To say that ONLY Catholics are Christians would be just as wrong as to say that NO Catholics are Christians.

You can even be a Christian and not belong to any particular religious persuasion, if you choose. It's really about the spirit of Christianity not the label ;)

The word catholic means 'universal'. And it is true that catholics embrace other world religions. Catholicism is more of a new age religion not based on biblical authority but on the authority of clergy. For a thorough comparative studyof catholicism and christianity go to proclaimingthegospel.com

I would have to say, from a scholarly point of view, that any person who worships Jesus/God is a Christian...then the various groups split off based on their own beliefs regarding certain theological issues.

You are generalizing ALL Catholics as not Christian..this is wrong.

By your own word, the Lutherans are not Christians, the Protestants are not Christian..the list could go on and on -all based on "not editing the Bible."
