I only wash my hair with shampoo when I shower. I don't think theres a point in the span of the 18 years of my life that I wash my body with soap on a normal basis. I probably wash my body with soap on rare occasion when I have dirt or ink stains on it. I shower once daily. I've always thought it was normal to not wash your body with soap, but only your hair. But ever since I came to college, I see a lot of people with body soap, a scrubber, and hair shampoo in the dorm hall. I don't smell bad or anything. I'm just wondering if I should start using body soap.

Wow....It's nothing wrong with not washing with soap if thats what you were taught. But using only water will not get the funk out of you. If you are not comfortable with using regular soap/body wash try going to a store to purchase some all natural/no chemical soap. And if you are not using soap you should shower more than once a day.
You may think that you don't smell bad because you are used to your own smell. Other people may beg to differ. I highly recommend that you start using soap while you shower.
Unlike other organs (like your lungs, heart, and brain), your skin likes a good washing. When you wash your skin, use water and a mild soap.

this soap thing is merely a marketing ploy by the soap manufacturers - I think we should take a leaf out of the rhinocerous's book and roll around in sand and mud to stay clean - you don't see rhinos sniffing under their armpits every ten minutes - mud is the answer !

if you've really been sweating, I don't think just water will get rid of body odor. You really should use soap. It also kills germs.
