My home has an enclosed porch and I would like to convert it to an open porch. I'm wondering what would that entail, how long would it take and how costly would it be?

Contact a local residential contractor that comes highly recommended. Actually, contact at least 3 of them. Explain your situation and what you would like to do. They should give you a free estimate by coming to your property and assessing the existing situation and how to best get it to be what you want. Get at least 3 quotes that way you know you aren't getting screwed by one of the contractors.

something like that should not cost much...most of it is demolition...if you are capable of doing things yourself that will save you tons of money...maybe ask a contractor or 2-3 to come over and give estimates but also get ideas off them...ask how they are going to do it, then do it yourself! good luck
