I have round/oval face and at present have short hair that is spiky at the tip, is there a better hair style for a male that will look really good and in style?

Whether your hair is curly, straight or somewhere in between, the right cut and volumizing techniques will complement your face and features. For a round face add volume to the top of your head to create a sliming look , Add volume to the top of your hair by adding layers. This will create a longer and slimmer look.
Don't: Do not add width or volume to your side; doing so will make your face look larger, Avoid hairstyles that are spiky and short topside.

There is no universal style that looks good and yes, there are plenty of styles that will look good on you. Go to a salon (not a barber shop) and talk to a stylist.
