Watching Worlds Wildest Police Chases the other night, a woman was being pursued for her 19th DUI. This one got her into jail.

I just booked in a Lady 2 weeks ago and she was on her 4th DWI and still was not incarcerated.

I have seen up to 5 on the record....needless to say both of these people were independently wealthy and have no regard for human life.

If you have enough money you can stay out of prison, kind of crappy the way our system works. With out of state offenses they can not be enhanced, so if someone has a DWI out of Kansas and then comes to Texas we cant hold his previous DWI against him. It is too hard to coordinate for the DA's office during to trial.

they are getting stricter about this.

the fact that your acquaintance had the DUIs in 2 states is part of what kept him out of jail.
