I am going on a Celebrity Cruise in a few months and I want to know people's opinion of the Celebrity cruises compared to other cruises they have been on. What did you like/dislike about it? If you could have changed anything about your cruise experience what would it have been? Please share with me!

Also, has anyone been on the 11 night Southern Caribbean Cruise Galaxy from San Juan? Tell me about it if you have.

Thanks to all who answer.

We first went on Celebrity several years ago [Century, before it was refurbished] and liked it so much we did the exact same cruise the next year! It is a bit more "upscale" in feel than the other mass market lines [possible exception: Holland America]. The ship is beautiful, people are easy-going [no party hearty atmosphere], food is fantastic and there's enough to do to keep you busy. You can also find great quiet places if you want to be left alone to relax.

Potential problems with San Juan are the expense of flying there [although there are bargains if you look and the timing is right] and the fact that if that particular cruise isn't filling up, they will offer special deals to locals, which some people may have a problem with [no slamming, please - just an observation].

A great resource for information is CruiseCritic.com. Go to the top of the screen and click on "Boards" and you'll get a huge list of topics. Be sure and check out the "Ports of Call", "First Time Cruisers", the Celebrity board and the "Roll Call" for the ship you end up choosing.

An 11-night cruise gives you plenty of time to relax and you'll get to see several different ports of call. The CC boards will tell you which activities in which port are "don't miss".

We've been on six cruises, including Carnival, Celebrity and Holland America. They were all great fun and each had pros and cons. The only thing I would've changed is to arrange not to have to leave the ship when the cruise was over!!

My biggest suggestion is to do LOTS of research on CC.

Have fun, but be warned: you WILL become addicted!!

I have been on about 20 cruises on four different cruise lines, including Celebrity. We like Royal Caribbean line the best, but we rated Celebrity a very close second. We did, however, notice that the level of service on Celebrity was a little bit better than on Royal Caribbean and it is definitely better than Norwegian and Princess. For one, on our Celebrity cruise we were met at the door on boarding with a glass of champaign. The staff made sure that we knew exactly how to get to our cabin. The room steward was more helpful than on other lines. At our request he arranged to have a thermal pot of hot water for tea in our cabin each day, and also kept cups and saucers there for us. The cabin we had on the Celebrity's Constellation was as nice as any we have been on/in. On Celebrity they offer Concierge service type cabins which provide some additional amenities not offered on RC or NCL.

We did our celebrity cruise to the Baltic for 14 days and it was thoroughly enjoyable. We will go on Celebrity again whenever we find a cruise that we want with them at a good price.

My wife and I have been on 14 cruises in total, three of which have been on celebrity ships. In fact we are going on a 14 day cruise of the celebrity summit next week.
Of all the cruise lines we have been on celebrity is the best. Their dining experience is spectacular, the dress code expectations are higher than other cruise lines, the attentiveness of the staff is higher, the ratio of passengers to cruise ship space is lower.
If you are planning on a cruise you cannot go wrong with Celebrity.
