Actually it is not a bad idea to invest in companies making basic toiletries (soap, washing powder, shampoo, toothpaste, etc) in the event that there are the economic consequences predicted as a result of global warming. People with less money still continue to buy these items whilst other sectors of the market suffer more in hard times.

Predicting the success of companies with cutting edge technology which will benefit from opportunities from global warming is particularly hard as any lead they have may quickly disappear. It also seems that little is be done to control greenhouse gas emissions at the moment despite warnings that the problems will get more severe which makes the decision of where to invest a more long term one. Companies which are investing in the field include BP, Virgin, GE and Shell.

One could also foresee that countries in presently cold regions such as Russia and Canada will benefit. Some Canadian stocks would seem to be a good idea perhaps in the banking sector.

Don't believe anything you read and only 1/2 of what you see. Of course, Global warming is real. The last Ice age has gone away, has it not? So, we must have global warming. Do people contribute to global warming? Probably some small amount, after all we ARE Warm and we breath in oxygen and breath out CO2, we must be part of the problem. What is Al Gore going to do about it? Kill a whole lot of people? Invariably that is what Socialists do when they take control of a country. Is that better than destroying their economy and causing millions to starve to death?

Are you real ?
is a much better question.

You will be sweating alright when the price of beer hits the roof because of lack of potable water.

And why attack RKO`s perhaps dramatic demonstration about being aware of interrelationships between components of Nature and which in the end will affect humanity as well, some already are

The essence shows a concern about the planet , humanity and its future .

Which you may lack or maybe it is because you just lack information.
if it is the latter , you can still come right.

Dew, if God controls everything ,i would change you god if i were you, this one does not appear to be either particularly competent or loving or caring .

If global warming is real then answer this, what is the ideal temperature of the earth? Why did all significant warming for the past centruy stop 10 years ago? Who caused the global warming in the mid-evil times?
Yes invest your money in global warming scheme but get out before it collapses. Don't forget about the whole Y2K thing? Lots of money made there by miss-information!

Shallow remarks about a very serious threat to our world don't minimize the risks we face. Global warming IS, indeed, a natural cyclical event that takes place over tens of thousands of years.
Since the Industrial Revolution, mankind has helped contribute to the escalation of the process, which in turn doesn't let man, plants and animals adapt quickly enough to climate changes.
Many people say, "So what is polar bears don't exist anymore? That doesn't affect me!" Actually, it does. Once polar bears, tsetse flies, rare frogs in the Amazon basin, mangrove forests, coral reef, remote Eskimo tribes, Venus fly traps, millions of insect species, wetlands, elephants, rivers, clean air, rain forests, cats, caribou and all other Earthly creatures begin to disappear, so, too, will mankind eventually become extinct.
Young people who haven't yet started families are the most vulnerable. Imagine if your beautiful little great-grand child crawls up on your lap fifty years from now and asks, "Grandpa, what did YOU to prevent global warming?"
How will you answer that darling, innocent child?
Will you be able to say that you gave up your gas-guzzling Hummer or SUV for a more fuel-efficient vehicle? Will you be able to state that you used mass transportation, car-pooled, rode bicycles, or walked more than you drove? Will you be able to admit that REduced, REused, and REcycled? Will you be able to recall how you joined the fight to prevent a new smoke-belching from being built in your hometown? Will you be able to claim that you helped keep streams, rivers and wetlands clean? Will you be able to say that you stopped eating cheap BigMacs so that fewer rain forests would have to be cut down to make way for more cattle grazing?
How will you answer your little grandchild in 2057 as (s)he sits on your lap, asks these tough questions, and breathes through a gas mask in order to get fresh air?? -RKO- 10/16/07

Your question is bogus. Science has proven GW is real. Do you feel the same about all the Cons who use the Iraq war threat, was THAT real?, to justify their moronic stance against a sovereign nation and back up the 911 tragedy by using an illegal war to promote their skewed ideals?

Buy AXE because you will need some big help attracting anyone with such a moronic thought process.

if someone puts a detailed scientific answer as to why global warming is real, will you read it?

If someone puts a post that says "yeah Gore is a big stinky hypocrit!" will you put it as the best answer?

These GW threads seem practically futile in terms of peoples ability to make others see sense.

If you are making investment decisions based on how much you sweat, maybe you should let a professional money manager invest on your behalf.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

If we do nothing and global warming hits full force, we'll be spending hundreds of billions of dollars relocating people away from the coasts, replacing stuff we've lost, and fixing damage to agriculture.

Neither you nor anyone else will have much money left over for new investment. The result will be an economic depression that will make the 1930s look like good times.
