Just like the saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" cheating is in the eye of the other.
What your significant other thinks is cheating is cheating, whether you think it's cheating or not.
You'll have to learn from him if he thinks it's cheating and then decide whether or not you can live comfortably with his decision.

You know I'm in the same situation, but I look at things very differently from you. In my view, it really depends on the relationships between your boyfriend and his girlfriends.
Ask yourself:
How long has he known them for?
How comfortable are you with his friends?
Has he ever cheated on you before?
Does he show you affection?
I mean, you can't be friends with someone else and never touch them and hug them. They ARE friends after all.
I'm Asian as well, and my parents are always in the state of mind that we have to be so cultural and blah blah blah. You gotta think that you do live in the United States and try to adjust your beings to this country and different life. I'm not saying change your whole cultural beliefs and everything, but to adjust to it.
But, back to your boyfriend. I think it really depends on the relationship with your bf&the girls. I would say flirting is cheating, but a simple hug or just putting an arm around her shoulders is okay. Just don't go too far with hugging or flirting.

First off I'm not telling you to forget your customs, or morality, but when you come to a different country, you should learn their customs and what is acceptable in their society. Hugging is a form of affection, but not to be considered having sex. You hug someone, when you are expressing how you feel. Because you like someone, you have sympathy for someone(when someone dies and you give a hug to show you care), because it says I care. Flirting is a casual way of letting someone know that you like them, not necessarily that you want to have sex, but that you would like to get to know them. Oh and by the way, when you call someone a twinkie, you are saying they are gay. If you are his girlfriend, why would he have to invite you to his party, that would be a given agreement that you would be there.

your boyfriend need to have some level of respect for your culture. becus you r not from around here, it is very difficult for you to accept changes.
hugs though r fine, some girls can be real b***hes at times so they'll mess around with your bf, just to get you jealous. don't fret.
you will know when he's cheating.
flirting is just an innocent gesture people use to have fun. nothing more.
hang in there and relax. if this is really bothering you that much talk to him and tell him your views.
rem. we r here to help you. good luck...

As at "twinkie" I can see where he is coming from. Americans hug all the time, kind of a "good friends" hand shake, if that's is all he is doing with his friends that are girls I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless there is something else he is doing.

Hugging isn't flirting in the US. Friends hug on a regular basis for the most part. My friends who are girls touch a lot (shoulder, arm, etc) but they don't mean anything more than friends.

Hugging is a form of closeness between friends. In my parents culture they actually hug and give 3 kisses on teh cheeks. They are not thinking sexually during this. Its just a form of closeness between friends. It all matters on what his intentions are. If hes hugging someone with no hidden intentions, there is nothing wrong with it, trust me, this is coming from a male virgin. We sure could use alot more huge in this world with all the hate in it:)

Innocent flirting is not cheating, it is just a game. The important is that your bf knows when to stop. You might want to try a bit of flirting as well with your friends and see his reaction.

It totally depends who it's with because my boyfriend has girl friends that he's known for a very long time and she knows we are dating and they still hug in like wal mart or whatever and I don't mind, but if it's some random girl that I don't know, ya it's flirting, I don't care!

touching is ok. hugging as a form of greeting is still ok (as long as it lasts for only 2 secondds). peck on the cheek, ok. but going beyond that means war!
flirting is cheating. i mean, what's the point of flirting when you already got someone? to stroke or boost the ego? c'mon! if that's the reason then you got some self-confidence issues.
