Yes know what you mean!

Now I've retired and I'm living in France I don't do that any more but when I read your question that sick feeling in the stomach came back again ~ just for a split second ~ the memories of the M25, all that hassle, dawn meetings, driving in the dark, you know what I mean.

Now it's "What shall we do today Darling" and a quick glimpse at the weather.

Soon, too soon, it will be your turn & you will have retired and be doing what we do
~ in France!!!!

Bon Courage.

Yes. I have a rule about getting up in the dark (though I worked through it on midnight shift for 11 years) but have no choice in the matter. I now work days, and the bright side is it's about 90 seconds from my house.

I can't bear to go out in the dark, so I just get up really late in the morning. I leave my house at 8:50am. I am supposed to be there by 9:00, but this means that I don't get there until 9:20. I haven't been told off yet for it, but I'm sure I will be by mid-November.

There is always the weekend and Christmas followed by new year, January can be difficult but by the 15th you will notice it getting lighter. I have central heating no so I miss coal fires and the draughts but I do not miss the smog

Yes but mornings will get better when thee clocks go back on October 28th. Evenings though will get darker. I hate it when the clocks change as it is a long way to the summer again.
