I work as a waitress in a restaurant at the state fair. One of the waiters there keeps making suggestive remarks to me. I'm 20, he's probably around 50. He'll say he loves me, or that he wants to marry me and get me pregnant so I can have his babies. Any time I'm standing alone waiting for customers to come in, he'll come up behind me and rub my shoulders, or put his arm around me. When he leaves, he half-hugs me. I've already tried asking him to please stop touching me. I'm in a committed relationship with my current boyfriend, but he's out of town visiting family right now and won't be back until the fair is over, so he can't come ask the guy to stop too. It's getting worse every day, and today is my fourth shift there and I am really dreading going in. I know he'll be there. I feel bad though, because he's worked there for longer than I have and I think they'll take his word over mine... plus he needs the money more than I do, it's a second job for me.. I don't know, help please!

1) don't use your boyfriend as a bouncer, be strong and independent, it builds character plus you will be able to take care of yourself when you're on your own.

2) tell your boss, he won't just take the other guys word, I'm sure some other co-workers have seen it as well, there's very strict rules about that stuff.

3) if you can't fix it with him or your boss then just quit, jobs are easy to find and it's your second anyhow

- you've told the guy to stop touching you and he's obviously ignoring your request so you do have to take things to the next step by reporting him to your boss. its not fair on you to have to deal with this sort of harrassment everytime your go to work.
- if u do report it to ur boss, then see if he gets a talking to and the man stops. if management fails to do anything and takes his word over urs, u should jus quit anyway. u shouldnt have to be forced to work in that sort of environment, even if it is your second job.
- him havin seniority over u, as well as needing the money more than u do is also no excuse to not report him. if he is older than he should know that you are not permitted to harrass someone in the workplace.
- u've told him already that you don't want him to be touching you. what makes u think that having ur bf go up to him n 'talk' to him will make any difference. whilst ur bf will undoubtedly go fend ur honour or wateva, u shudn't rely solely on ur bf to help u out. should exhuast every possible means to get this guy to stop touchin u inappropriately.

I think you should talk to your boss first if he/ or she doesn't believe you or take it seriously then report it to an higher authority. You have a right to feel safe at work who cares if he needs the job. If he needed so bad then he wouldn't harass you and respect u.

Tell your boss.

Even if they do take your word over his this time and something bad happens, it'll be on file that you reported him. If he's being that weird and creepy toward you he's probably done/probably will do it to someone else, and it's best to let someone know.

It sure sounds like it to me.

It sounds like it's time to tell your boss, and then to be prepared to make some even tougher decisions about continuing to work there.

you need to go to the supervisor and tell them what is going on . if you dont chances are he is going to get pissed and sayy that you are sexually harrassing him and you will lose your job if you let it go on you are only hurting yourself. report him as soon as possible.
