I just answered a question basically asking why "non-believers" were so angry at Christians. I compiled this list:

Blue laws
Ten commandments in my courthouse
Opposition to gay marriage
Uneducated people denying evolution
Trying to teach God to my kids in science class
Banning Harry Potter
Abstinence only sex education
"Faith-based initiatives"
Gay teen suicide after their parents sent them to "reparative therapy"
The Persecution Complex
My president taking counsel from Pat Robertson
Invading another country because our President believed God told him to
The fact that no one hoping to hold public office can claim any religion other than Christianity
"In God We Trust" on my nation's money
Changing our pledge of allegiance to invoke the Christian God
Singing "God Bless America" at every baseball game
A widow having to take the US government to court just to display the Wiccan pentacle on her husband's gravestone
Jesus Camp

What more can you add to this list?

can we add pascals wager to that?

oh can we also add them getting mad at non-christians for celebrating christmas, when they dont even know the actual history of christmas?

and how about the ones that claim santa is evil because rearranged it spells satan. (meanwhile they ignore that god rearranged spells dog)

can we also add their ignorance of american history, making false claims as to the countries founding.

how about we add the justification of negative actions towards others, by saying their god says its ok?

how bout the crying of being discriminated against because they cannot force prayer on our children at school. (we all know prayer can still exist in school, but it is up to the individual to do it in their head - which actually is what the bible says. Matthew 6:5)

their denial of the millions killed in the name of their god.

There are gays that are opposed to gay marriages. Some atheists deny evolution No one gets to teach God in science class heck we cant even say Merry Christmas in schools anymore we have to say Winter Soltice. My kids read Harry Potter if it gets them to read they can read whatever they want as long as they know the difference between truth and fiction I agree with you on the sex education oneand the gay teen one thats horrible, don't have a persecution complex I don't think I do at least I am blessed and held in high favor by God, any President can take counsel from a religious leader and how do you know whats being said he may be having a crisis of faith and that my dear is personal, we did not invade for that reason look up the pictures of London during an Islamic Peaceful protest it will make you sick, IGWT on money has been there and will be there it is History, The pledge is the same one we have always had and if you don't want to say it or have your kids say it well thats your business, I agree with the widow too because it is her husband and his wishes and it should have been allowed not everyone buried in a cemetary are christians.

Sara- but it is just a theory. No matter what you think it is still called the Theory of evolution because the theory hasn't been proven well enough to be called fact. Sorry if you're mad at us for calling it what it is. I think you might need to rethink what you personally get mad at because that is a bit petty.

I'm angry that according to a recent Gallup poll, only 45 percent of Americans would vote for an atheist for President. I'm angry that atheist conventions have to have extra security, including hand-held metal detectors and bag searches, because of fatwas and death threats. I'm angry that atheist soldiers -- in the U.S. armed forces -- have had prayer ceremonies pressured on them and atheist meetings broken up by Christian superior officers, in direct violation of the First Amendment. I'm angry that evangelical Christian groups are being given exclusive access to proselytize on military bases -- again in the U.S. armed forces, again in direct violation of the First Amendment. I'm angry that atheist soldiers who are complaining about this are being harassed and are even getting death threats from Christian soldiers and superior officers -- yet again, in the U.S. armed forces. And I'm angry that Christians still say smug, sanctimonious things like, "there are no atheists in foxholes." You know why you're not seeing atheists in foxholes? Because believers are threatening to shoot them if they come out.

I'm not really angry about anything in particular, but seeing your long list and all of the other recommended additions is getting me there...

(Did I is see religion's not-for-profit status mentioned anywhere ?)

I suppose my "anger" is a global thing. I'm not as much focused on what's wrong with this or that religion as I am about the stubborn refusal of the individual followers to look far enough into the future to realize that sharp changes of their own personal attitudes are needed ..RIGHT NOW.

Our world is getting more and more dangerous and religious belief is a big, BIG part of the problem. Getting a thorough and unbiased, fact based education is an important part of the solution... learning to believe in gods is not.

The reason why they are angry is because they are literally hopeless. I came across this question which is now in voting and I was shocked by the answer that's leading in the votes, answer #1 currently has 60 votes.

The question "Is it possible to live life devoid of hope and faith?" I thought our atheist friends would tell the questioner that hope and faith are human qualities that we all posses. A lack of belief in God doesn't equate to being spiritually bankrupt. Hope is the reason we continue when situations seem impossible to overcome. Hope is the reason that we don't give up. We have hope when there is no evidence that things will improve, it sustains us until things get better. Without it, we give up prematurely. This attitude doesn't help when you have a sick child or when you've lost everything you have in a fire or natural disaster.

I used to think that atheists are just people who don't accept the supernatural without evidence, but now I wonder. Hope is not supernatural, it's part of being human.

I'm not angry at anything, it is very rare that I get angry, and it soon passes if I do.

I can say that I'm disappointed in some things though. I'm always holding out that humans are better than what I sometimes see. But for the most part, we are pretty great.

I'm a Christian and I'm angry about several of those things too, particularly the way young gay people are treated by their so-called families.

However,
I do not believe they sing God Bless America at baseball games and at least in the US, I don't believe courts ask you to swear on the Bible. You simply are asked to raise your right hand.

I think most of your complaints only apply to a certain segment of Christians. Example; They showed Harry Potter at my church followed by a discussion of the values it taught.

Actually, it's "The Star Spangled Banner" that's sung at baseball games, and not "God Bless America".

Other than that, I completely agree with you. I'm not an atheist, but I'm certainly angry. With Christian evangelists telling us that Gays and Lesbians were responsible for 9/11, institutionalized bigotry and such, I think it's a bit tough to think that anyone should think that people shouldn't be angry at times.

I'm mad that such a large part of our population has dropped out of the real world and is hiding in some maudlin, dreamy, romantic stupor, and waiting for some invisible creature to solve all the problems facing our people.

Most of those I don't even think about on an average day and none make me angry. If any of those were my biggest problem I would take out a second mortgage or adopt a child because it would mean I have too much time on my hands and not enough real problems to worry about.

To be honest that seems to be a list of windmills that theists are tilting at. Granted I think a lot of them backward and misguided but they don't make me angry. Like religious support of slavery these things will likely make a lot of theists embarrassed in time.

I am angry because:

Any TV show I like inevitably gets canceled
No one reads anymore
Grindhouse in being released in pieces, in order to amp up sales
They show goddamn commercials at the movies now!
I wasted four years in college on an artsy-fartsy major
I didn't bring a lunch today and I'm starving
Why do they make unfit parents go to parenting class, yet don't allow them to take their children along?
I need a new muffler
Why can't I buy Wasabi Altoids in the States? Do they even make Wasabi Altoids? And why not?
