Your friend has strong emotional ties to you. He is very afraid of losing you. In his dream, you left him (by drowning), and his reviving you brought you back to him, emotionally tying you to him. Seeing your Dad was him knowing that you had passed over to the other side and this also terrifies him, the fact that he had lost you for good. He seems to be a very good friend if he is that concerned about your well being. Hold onto him, you don't find man like that.

Well, your friend certainly cares about you alot. What I am wondering is if there is a time when you were overwhelmed by your emotions, and your friend helped get you through it? What does it mean that you saw your Dad? Has your dad passed over, would that be a reason for him to start crying when you told him that? If so, then I would interpret you drowned in the water as being overcome by grief, and his efforts to revive you as symbolic of things he did to help you get through it......(breathing for you when you couldn't, keeping your heart beating, when you couldn't)

This dream is very important to him, because you are important to him. Performing CPR on anyone can be an emotional situation. He felt like he almost lost you.
