My adoby reader says adoby reader 8.1 has stopped working. when I try to access it from a web page to read a document. how can I fix this?

uninstall and reinstall your Adobe Reader 8.1

A couple options
Load newest acrobat reader from their site
http://adobe.com/

Get reader smaller download than adobe's
http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlfoxitpdf.html
I use the snapfiles one since I don't do much with adobe and just need to read files once in a while, and it is a lot smaller download.

Uninstall Adobe Reader
Restart
then download and reinstall:
