Hi friend,
There is ample evidence to support the possibility of reincarnation (there have been some documented cases I believe of people speaking in foreign languages or different accents/dialects used centuries back while in a trance). There is also a great amount of anecdotal evidence to support it. I will say this though: If reincarnation exists, we should not assume on it's mechanics. I believe for instance, that most of our behavior is derived by current circumstances such as environment and brain chemistry/genetics. Reincarnation to some, is a comforting fact, for others, it is irrational and based on many of the ancient ideas which derived from ancestor worship in the ancient east (it has since evolved into more new-age like concepts).
I have heard more good arguments against reincarnation than for. I would caution people that just because someone can see a past life or even though there is strong evidence of a past life, we should not immediately assume what that person is "tapping into" is theirs or another's, it could be an association of a past life which has a similar personality. Truth be told, it is a hard concept to unmask.

As you have seen by the posters above it can be explained. However, there are many different views on reincarnation just as their are on heaven, hell, politics and war. Theories on reincarnation are great exercises for the mind and imagination but there is still no way to know until you leave this life. Everyone holds past life memories in their subconscious that can be accessed through hypnosis which, by no means, proves anything. Memories can be attributed to many different things only one of which is the actual experience of a past life.

It is a belief system-In a way whole life is based on "beliefs" only.Appoinments with Doctors after one--planning to complete a project by December,5,2007 etc.As sri.Yudhistira in Mahabharatham for a question from Dharma Raja(the "overseer" of righteous conduct) "What is most surprising thing on earth?" answers "human being not knowing what would happen next second, tells what he/she would do after one year!! -that is the most surpricing thing"--is it not "wishful thinking?"-it is based on belief--similarly the belief in Religious texts, which says the "Soul is Eternal and it changes its carnal body like one changing the worn out ,dilapidated body to a new one"-re+in+carnation=reincarnation.

There are millions of people who believe in reincarnation. If fact, there are thousands who remember their past lives. It explains everything. A central theme is karma. What happens to us in this life is a result of our past lives.
Reincarnation was past of the Bible until it was removed by church elders who were unconfortable with the idea.
By the way, it has nothing to do with coming back as an animal.

Reincarnation is denied by Christian fundementalist as they elect to view the Churches Truth and not the word of Jesus, the real truth.
Jesus spoke many times on reincarnations as he is the first man to reach God in becoming Christ; his reincarnations taught him the way to God by experiencing the physical life.
The Ebionites, Samaritans, Elkasaites, NAZARITES all spoke of Jesus in reincarnations; these documents were discarded by the Catholic and Christian fundementalist Churches as it did not support their doctrines of maintaning membership within the Church.
The Clementine Homilies also teach of Jesus and his many reincarnations; this is highly "upsetting" to the Vatican.
So you know, Jesus had no intention of his words being distorted as they were by the Church.

What kind of explanation are you looking for?
It happens.
This is like asking...can love be explained?
OR can life be explained?
