My Grandmother used to rub vick's on the bottom of all us Grandchildren's feet to help stop us from coughing. Anyone else ever do this or heard of it? Does it help? Really how could it?

it doesn't do anything physically, but it does help psychologically, it makes you feel cared for and relaxed, this eases the cough.

It DOES help. I never heard of Vix, but I heard of using honey and I do. I used to put it on my feet, wrap in saran wrap, and put socks on. I put my feet on a heating pad and I felt better. Strange, eh?
