Anyone who criticizes Zionism or Israel is labeled an anti-semite. It is all part of the Zionists strategy to discredit their opposition. Between the mileage they get for the "Holocaust" and their control of the mainstream mass-media outlets, they have a stranglehold on the content and structure of all of the information that the world sees. To give the Devil his due, they've done a good job of it, too.

I'm neither Jewish nor Israeli. I'm an objective American of the Pagan faith, and I saw no reason to discredit Carter (or his book, which I did read) on grounds of anti-Semitism. Carter was not only NOT critical of the Jews and their faith (his criticisms were directed only at the Israeli government and its policies) but he also pointed out the shortcomings of the Palestinians too. I thought the book was 100% fair.
What I see as more critical than Jewish Zionism is right-wing Christian Zionism. Look at the people in the U.S government who are "trying" to negotiate a peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. How can they remain objective when their misguided religious beliefs dictate that "God gave Israel to the Jews"? No one should give a rat's @ss about what anyone's "God" thinks about real estate...this is the REAL world, with real peoples' lives at stake, not a fairy tale.

I have not read his book so I am going by reports from friends who have and quotes he has made that I have read or seen and I would say he is, without question. Carter is. I believe Obama is. I think Kerry's wife was but I don't know about Kerry. I think Hillary will go whichever way the wind blows and if the climate turns anti-Semitic then she will too. Carter was the worst President in the history of the US and I would not care about anything the man has to say really. He is a very unimportant person.
By the way, Norcalis, how dare you talk about the milage we get from the holocaust. Show me a Muslim/Arab who does not whine about the land they lost (in wars they started) or about how the world treats them (gee, like terrorists go figure) and I will stop drawing pictures of Mohammed just for fun. I lost family in the holocaust and your comments are offensive. If Hilter killed Muslims instead of getting into bed with them, then you guys would be whining, crying, blowing things up and wanting the world to become Muslim to right the wrong. Oh wait a minute, that is kind of like what you guys do now, isn't it? My bad.
And hey, at least when someone speaks things against Judaism we try to shrug it off. Muslims seem to stand outside holding signs saying so and so's head needs to be chopped off and griping about how the world does not give them any right etc etc. I get so sick of the double standard in the Muslim world.
Oh well, back to drawing ugly images of Mohammed, just for fun.

Hi DA MAN,
I personally don't label anyone 'anti semitic' if they criticise some of Israel's actions. No country is perfect, and this includes Israel. In Israel itself, people debate and argue all the time and Israelis are critical of their own politicians, just as people of all nations are of their own leadership!
The only time I think it's wrong to criticise Israel is if:
a) it's ONLY Israel being criticised, and the wrongdoings by her Arab neighbours are ignored
b) the person criticising Israel has incorrect facts, such as the many times on this site I have seen people declare 'Only Jews are allowed to become citizens, so Israel is racist!'
c) the person criticising calls Israelis 'Nazis' - this is a cruel thing to say, and clearly rubbish.
But anyone who has a reasonable grasp of what goes on in the Middle East, and who doesn't agree with Israel, is not automatically a racist!
That said, SOME people do use 'anti zionism' as a way to say anti semitic things - I know this is true because I have heard them!
Hope you had a good Eid.
EDIT NORCAISLAM
Your remark about our getting 'mileage from the Holocaust' is DISGUSTING.
You can see from any of my posts that I am a reasonable and open minded person. But you are unfair to say what you did. Ironically, it's usually non Jews who bring up the topic of the Holocaust - just like you have.
If you are a decent and fair person, you will either delete that comment or at least admit it was unfair and uncalled for.

Without Carter peace between Egypt and Israel never existed. Only fanatics call him anti Semite.
Edit: Carter before his book was considered Israel best friend.

Carter was from the South. In his boyhood he attended cross burnings of the local KKK. So he was anti-semitic far before he said this foolish comment.

I feel that Carter is an antisemite, but not becuase of the book. He wrote the book based on his anti-Israel sentiments.
I've followed him for years. I know his type, I grew up with people like him. He was born a Jew-hater, learned how to make it more "elegant", but has stayed with his stereotypes his entire life. And I know this from people who know him personally over the years as well...
He's very bright... no question... and a capable leader. But his preconcieved notions about Jews and Israel clouded his ability to be honest and fair.
The same could be said about some others on the opposite side of the fence also, but that's a different question, answer .. and pair of points :)))

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.
Insha'Allah, unfortunately, shortly after President Jimmy Carter published his recent tome groups representing American Jews and the Israeli lobby began to "rant" about President Carter being an "anti-Semite".
Insha'Allah, President Carter being a man of high principal and courage seems to have taken it all in stride and has not recanted his well informed opinions he so eloquently expressed in his book.
Insha'Allah, he has also been very critical of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, especially in regards to the their domestic policies, the erosion of civil liberties in this country and the "war in Iraq".
Insha'Allah, one has to wonder if any of his now many critics have actually read this book?
Ma'a salaam.

The man is not an anti-semite, lest we forget he worked to bring peace to the region. It is insulting to hear people attempt to discount the work and opinion of a man simply because it runs counter to their own.
