When I was in Sunday school we learned all about how god killed everyone on the planet except for Noah and his ark. Then we learned about how god killed all the first born sons of Egypt to punish one man. Then we learned how he destroyed a city and turned a lady in a pile of salt.

Then I went to highschool and learned how tiny mutations in animals over time can lead to the formation of new species. No one was murdered in the process. It was refreshing.

Oh, and that atheistic science (biology, cosmology, palaeontology etc) is evil.

What you learned in Sunday school was thousands year old parables written by men, and translated many times by men who may have had an agenda and chose to do more than just *translate*. You are confusing religion ( a daughter of fear and hope explaining to ignorance the unknowable), a construct of men, with faith. The two are as different as day and night, and incompatible.
Those who take the bible to be the *literal* word of god are committing intellectual suicide.

Evolution does involve death, just as all individual lives end in individual deaths. It's just that the death involved in evolution is not consistently focused on vindication and willful slaughter--only on the fact of some creatures surviving and others dying out.
Evolution--unlike religion--is not focused on teaching children and gullible adults to be fearful and so it is not suitable for the social control which is the goal of Sunday School. For religion to be efficacious, it MUST inspire abject FEAR. Science is a matter of knowledge and knowledge is a path AWAY from fear.
If people begin to understand how life REALLY works, church membership will shrink and vanish like an illusion.
Good question, tho.

Evolution is a matter of science, not christian revelation. Christian revelation provides one with what us necessary for salvation. By way of literal story, allegory, poetics, etc. The bible imparts God's revelation to humanity.

God's justice demands that those whom do wrong must face the consequences. The bible also demands that humanity be truthful, loving, kind, patient, wise, etc. When we fail to fulfill our call to be the best people we can and when we actually choose to do horrible things we deserve to be and God would only be loving to correct us.

Didn't you learn in High School about all the mass murders carried out in the name of a religion free utopia?

How about the practice of euthanizing the weak and infirm because they suck up valuable resources? Don't you think eugenics should be taught in schools right after the evolution unit?

I think a church must decide what is taught in their own Sunday School.

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesars and unto god what is gods....

Church is a place to practice ones religion. School is for education based on fact.

colleges are public establishments funded by potential of the common inhabitants. it is likewise required. Church on the different hand is a private entity and is in basic terms by potential of selection. So no, evolution shouldn't learn in church.
