This is not a Brady Bunch episode. You can't superglue it and you can't perform on a talent show and get the money to replace it. Just call her and say, "I feel real bad that I accidentally dropped it and it broke. I know I can't replace it." Feel her out. If she's upset, maybe you can offer a nice dinner to show that you appreciate her disappointment. But, c'mon, she's your mom, and it's a plate. No matter how important it is, it's still a plate. It's not like you backed-over your father in the driveway.

You're sorry, you feel bad, you'll be more careful next time, blah, blah, blah. Time to move on. Mom would probably rather have face time with you. This might be a good excuse for her to realize what's really important in life. Maybe just a nice meal with mom. That would do it for me, anyway.

Good luck.

See if you can get a replacement -- do a search on the internet... or call the store where she bought the plate. Maybe someone has the thing for sale on ebay or craig's list?

If you apologize and try to replace it, then that's the best thing you can do. Accidents do happen, hon, and i'm sure your mother will realize it wasn't done on purpose.

take care...

Yeah, there's two approaches - either come clean, or hide the evidence and deny everything. It depends on the wrath of your Mother!

Whatever it was worth, its still only a plate, when all's said and done.

Does your mother know about it?
If not, try and superglue it, or pretend you don't have a clue where it's gone, or blame it on a brother or sister.
But If she already knows it was you then, the best thing you can do now is say your sorry and if your really nice offer to pay for a new one!

well you can't go back you can only go forward so just be honest about it.

I'm sure any good parent would rather get honesty from their kids instead of lies.

Honesty is very huge in life, and I'm sure your mother will appreciate even more to know that you're a good and honest person.

Make her proud be honest, maybe compromise with offer something to make her feel better

Good luck
