A spouse cannot be required to testify. There is no need to invoke the fifth amendment which is protection from incriminating oneself.

The 5ht Amendment id strictly for the purpose of protecting an individual from self-incrimination, not incriminating another, including a husband. In some jurisdictions in this country today, a wife may refuse to testify against her husband in a criminal proceeding. You need to talk to a liar, excuse me... a lawyer.
