I do not Know why a Canadian would want to be a illegal immigrant in the US.Lot`s of Canadians immigrate to the US legally. Most of them are highly educated and have high paying job`s in Canada and leave because they can make more money in the US.

If there are, it's not really known. Why would you think anyone from Canadian would leave that country to come here, other than for a vacation or business. The fan fair about illegal is mainly with people from Mexico. There are I'm sure people from other areas of the world that have come here on visas and allowed them to expire and haven't returned to their countries, which makes them illegal in the eyes of the law.

I am English-Canadian, and yes I think I should to have free access to the U.S. job market.

If I go illegally, I will lose my public health insurance, and more importantly, my college and university qualifications might not be recognized, so I would then do what? Pick tomatoes with the Mexicans?

I already had my boiler operator qualifications severely lowered when I went to Quebec, and Canada has doctors driving cabs, so I know qualifications is where the U.S. government would have the most power over me. Alberta, Canada has a oil boom and a 3.5 % unemployment rate. If you can't find work here, there is something wrong with you!

Hardly anyone I have talked to has gone to the U.S. illegally. 1 homeless guy in Montreal told me how he had gone everywhere in the U.S., and one 19 year old told me he had gone to the U.S. illegally, but these people are tourists, not getting ahead in any career.

If I could go to the U.S. illegally and work in my field, I would. If I speak English, work hard, and am honest, then I don't think it is any American's business to stop me from working in the U.S. I believe in free migration unless a nation's language is threatened.

The Fifth Estate (CBC) said that you are 7 times more likely to get shot in the U.S. You have some nice weather, but our news stories have from time to time compared the U.S. and Canada, and usually, we get told the grass in not greener on the other side.

As a Canadian myself who is in the US legally- I don't understand why a Canadian would want to live in the US illegally.

Why would I want to live like a criminal? I would have to find jobs under the the table, I would have no bank account, health insurance, SSN,etc. That does not sound like a fun way to live.

Canadians have it pretty good in Canada- good health insurance, access to a good life and all its amenities. Why would someone give that up to have no benefits in another Country?

I have never seen one. So this tells me that if there are any they do not draw attention to themselves by holding large demonstrations waving the Canadian flag and demanding that we accept their culture.

If their culture was worth embracing they would fight to save it in their own country.

i havent heard of any and i live near the border

maybe people are always trying to get into canada, dont think alot are trying to leave, however the US does give them green cards if they come here and they can apply for citizenship.

a family member of mine from canada did that a number of years ago when the company he was working for transferred him from canada to georgia.
