It's very rich in flavanoids and anti-oxidants. Black as well as green are very good for you, especially unsweetened.

Tea is generally considered to be good for you, green tea in particular.
Now caffeine is NOT good for you, which is why lower levels found in tea are preferable to the higher ones found in coffee.
If caffeine presents a problem you can switch to non caffeinated herbal teas.
There is a tea called 'Good Earth' which is naturally sweet.
JFTR diets aren't good for you. It is far better to just stop eating like a fat person. Switching to eating mostly fruits and veggies & drinking water, tea and juice instead of cola, milk and Kool-Aid will do wonders. If & when you do eat something stupid like cola, ice cream or a donut, do it once a week, not once a day.
Even a moderate amount of exercise like 20 minutes 3 times a week will slim you down. Also, simply walking burns HALF the calories of playing racquetball. Jared is on the level.
When you exercise 1st thing in the morning, it raises your metabolism, so you burn more calories all day. It also makes you more alert, with out the nasty side effects of caffeine.
Also, do not starve yourself. Your body responds by dropping your metabolism and making you crave high cal foods.
Seriously, getting slim & healthy is about eating moderate amounts of good food instead of stupid amounts of junk food. Just that simple, no pills required.
JFTR I lost 60lbs over an 18 month period just by minimizing stupid eating and getting a little exercise. That was 6 years ago and I have never gained it back.

unsweetened tea is very good for you. Lots of antioxidants, a more mild stimulant than coffee and it helps you drink more.
It's only the sweetened version that's bad for you, and even then it's only bad in excess.

Tea is good in moderation, unless you have certain caffeine restrictions, i guess. i've heard that green tea is especially good.

green tea is suppose to be good for you.Dr.Oz was on Oprah and said if you replace your morning coffee with green tea for one month,you will lose ten pounds.Never tried it myself but that's what he said!
