I'm having such a hard time losing weight. and I'll do real good for a couple weeks but then I get sick of eating the same foods. I'm really busy and work two jobs with a young son at home. I need real ideas for snacks, dinners, etc... Can anyone help? I like the idea of eating every few hours. So if anyone could give me a typical day. Say 730am to 8pm. thanks. First thing in the morning I have a protein smoothie with a banana, strawberries, protein powder and 0 calorie orange drink, blended together. keeps me full for a few hours.

7.30am Smoothie (as you already have).
10.00am Piece of fruit
12.30pm Small amount of pasta, low fat mayo, 100gms chicken breast (grilled or boiled)
3.00pm Banana
5.30pm Dinner (chicken as above, veg, small amount of potatoes
7.00pm Piece of fruit
I am unsure from your smoothie recipe if you are training as you are taking protein powder, if you are this would make a difference to the meals as you need to incorporate more protein than above suggestions. Remember protein powders can have 90 cals per 25mgs, a banana is over 100 cals so watch out for "hidden" calories. Veg can have hidden calories too - stick to brocolli, cauliflower, green beans and away from sweetcorn. Check out the calories everything especially in rice, pasta and potatoes they can be really surprising. You need to make sure you are not having a smoothie in the morning and then nothing until lunchtime. If this is the case, try reducing the size of the smoothie or having a piece of fruit (apple or pear - not another banana) at mid-morning. If you have long gaps between eating your body thinks it is starving and will keep hold of fat in case it needs it.
