Depends on the severity..
If you bumped someone in slow moving traffic.. no scratches, dents etc. then no.. as any reported accident tarnishes your good driving record, and hikes your insurance rates quite a bit (even though you were going 2 miles per hour).
Otherwise, then yes. Any damage/injury has to be reported immediately.

Now, use your head and think for a minute . How about YOU getting hit and are bleeding along the road. Wouldn't YOU appresiate getting help from the person that was involved .
Even a poor little animal should have help. Have a heart and don't think everything will cause a trouble for YOU .
If you did make a mistake however, be a man/women owe up to it and make it right one way or another and learn from the experience .

I don't hit anything every day. I don't report that to anyone. In fact, this is the first time I ever have.
Misspelling "something" would tend to get me in more trouble.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WHAT YOU HIT WAS A PERSON ???
REPORTING IT WILL NOT ALWAYS GET YOU IN TROUBLE BUT IT WILL ALSO PROTECT YOU IF THIS COMES BACK AT A LATER DATE.

because if you don't and you run over someone, you get charged for leaving the scene of a crime, and failure to stop and render aid.
