Well let me explain this in a bit more detail. I believe he is cruel and horrible in the human sense of the word, but possibly god has different standards, and ultimately it's god who decided right and wrong not humans. Examples of where I think he's cruel-
-Tells Abram to sacrifice him some animals, which makes god feel good.
-Decides to kill Moses' son as he had not been circumcised
-Jesus (who I believe is part of god) sends devils into 200 pigs and they all die.
-God drowned everyone at the time of Noah. (jesus also believed in this story)
And many more examples.
However, I think that god doesn't see these things as cruel as he is not used to earthly customs so this is why I still love him as he loves us.

To all the people who don't understand this-
Say your child hit someone, or pulled the wings off an insect or swore at you, or something. You wouldn't stop loving them right?

And I do believe he is loving, caring, forgiving. Just that he sometimes does things that I PERSONALLY find cruel. Even if they are not cruel according to god himself.

There's no hell.
Think about it.
Why would the creator of the universe care about your opinions? It makes no sense at all.
There is no reason to believe in any kind of an afterlife.

God gave you a brain and you are able to think? I love the big spirit in the sky. If you sometimes do not go through your thought process of loving him and hating him then you will not understand the lessons you are put on this earth to learn.
If you are talking that he is cruel because of 9/11 or the holocaust you have to remember that their is an equal power of evil call the Devil.
Then their is also the who Man needs to wipe man out to conserve our resources, not saying that it is right and god should not intervene but he does not have too until the last moment, he waits a while and works in mysterious ways.
For every evil their is a good. Remember life is a balance and god might be the good but he cannot always have the strength to take on evil. He might have to let things relax a minute or two take a break from his every day before coming back and teaching evil a lesson.

Everybody has there reason or question of why God? I guess you are thinking God has done you wrong or some of the prayers you have prayed to him have not come to past. Understand that God works in his time not ours. He might not answer us when we want him too but he's always right on time. If you are saying he's cruel because he doesn't stop babies from passing away at birth or people suffering well look at it this way. The devil is the one that like to see suffering but we the people in the world don't have enough faith in God to believe he will pull us through on top of all this you will go through trials and tribulations and at the end you look back and say you made it through the storm. He gave us the right to do what we want and to worship him at our will. Trust in him and believe in his word and I promise you it will all work out for you. Keep him first and don't let the worldly things and people side track you. Everybody is subjected to go to hell because we were all born into sin so our job is to ask for forgiveness and earn our ticket to heaven. Love your brothers and sisters and yo should be good.

You believe in God and love Him. That's all that matters. He knows you love Him and He loves you too.
Sometimes God does things (or doesn't) which makes us think that he is cruel and wants to make us suffer. No. He has His reasons for everything He does. And although it may not seem so at the time, what He does is for your good in the long run. Just trust in Him and know that he will answer every prayer of yours - in His time.
Finally - if you are a good person and have done your best to live life by the staright and narrow path, you will not go to hell.

You obviously do NOT believe what God said about Himself.
God is, first and foremost, holy. That means He has zero tolerance for sin. (Sin is anything that violates His nature and character. For instance, God is Truth, so any lie is a sin. God is faithful, so unfaithfulness, et cetera, is a sin. God is Life, so murder is sin, et cetera.)
Second, God is righteous. That simply means He has NEVER violated His own holiness.
Finally, God is Love. (Love in Greek - Agape - means "Universal, Unconcerned Benevolence", and it's antonym is NOT "hate", but "selfishness".)
So, as you read through the Bible, when you see God doing this or that or the other, and you think this is horrible, or this is cruel, remember first of all that you don't have all the facts. In fact, you probably don't really understand what's TRULY going on. Second, try to understand what's happening from God's perspective and remember He is absolutely holy, he is absolutely righteous, and He is Love. He makes His choices based on these three attributes. (There are other attributes of God, of course, but focus on these three for now.)
I pray that this enlightens you and gives you a deeper appreciation for the decisions God is forced to make as the King of the universe and Judge.
Ask God to reveal His Love and Holiness to you, and ask Him to forgive you for your attitudes. He's SO loving, that He'll even forgive someone like YOU (*grin*)
God bless you in your search for the true meaning of who God is.
One additional comment:
Jesus said "When you've seen me, you've seen the Father", and "I only do those things I see the Father doing." So, if you REALLY want to know what God is REALLY like, look at Jesus and see what HE did and how HE lived His life.

No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means. --George Bernard Shaw
The Bible is a book that has been read more and examined less than any book that ever existed. --Thomas Paine
Most people are bothered by those passages of Scripture they do not understand, but the passages that bother me are those I do understand. --Mark Twain
If you believe that exposing your children to violence is a problem, by all means keep them away from the Bible. --Rev. Charles Henderson
The Old Testament, as everyone who has looked into it is aware, drips with blood; there is, indeed, no more bloody chronicle in all the literature of the world. --Henry L. Mencken
When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said "Let us pray." We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. -- Desmond Tutu
The Bible and the Church have been the greatest stumbling blocks in the way of women's emancipation. --Elizabeth Cady Stanton
The Bible itself is intolerant, and true followers of God's word should be as well.-- Bob Jones III, president of Bob Jones University
The Christian community continues to exist because the conclusions of the critical study of the Bible are largely withheld from them. --Hans Conzelmann
The Catholics have a Pope. Protestants laugh at them, and yet the Pope is capable of intellectual advancement. In addition to this, the Pope is mortal, and the church cannot be afflicted with the same idiot forever. The Protestants have a book for their Pope. The book cannot advance. Year after year, and century after century, the book remains as ignorant as ever. --Robert Ingersoll
The New Testament authors did not customarily refer to their written record as the Word of God. That subsequent Christian tradition tends to do this while the writers themselves hesitate to do it should tell us something. Evidently they distinguished the difference between the living, infinite Word and the written record more clearly than we do. If the written record is ever called the Word, it is the Word only in a secondary, derivative or relational sense. It is not the Word in the absolute sense. --Robert D. Brinsmead

I do not understand why you choose to love a "god "
that you think is horrible and crude. How do you even know this about her/him/it?
It's all in your own mind whether or not you think you will go to hell. If that's where you want to go, then just keep positive about it, as it appears you are.
If you are afraid of going to "hell", I'd recommend converting to Atheism, that way no "god" is controlling your life here on earth.
As far as the "afterlife" is concerned, you will not even be aware of it, whether you are Atheist, Roman Catholic, Baptist, Muslim, or a Moron...I mean Mormon.
Energy is what gives us life and enables our brain cells to function. When you die, your brain cells lose the energy to function. Energy is neither created nor destroyed...the energy that gives us life is transferred to another form..perhaps it is our spirit, but, I believe an individual will have no awareness of it, because her/his brain cells have lost that energy and no longer function.

No one can tell you for sure weather you will go to hell or not. No one has experienced it so no one knows...Everyone has their own beliefs no one knows for sure what religion is right and what religion is wrong, if i were you i wouldnt dwell on where your going when you die just worry about the things that you are facing right now. And no matter what anyone else says about god or religion or hell they have no proof.
