Personally, I do not believe that...
As a Jew who has studied Xianity, I have always suspected that J*sus wanted to start his own brand of reform Judaism.
Remember: He never approached non-Jews; it was his followers (specifically Paul) who did.
Thus, Xianity is the invention of Paul, not J*sus.
If J*sus ever came back to the world of the living, he would be very puzzled by the religion which claims him as a god.
He would probably shrug in amazement, and walk into the nearest synagogue for morning/afternoon/evening prayers...

God did not command Jesus to start a new religion or break off from Judaism. Jesus had no desire to do so either. He said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
He had no intention of starting another religion and I think he would be disappointed to see what happened after his death. We are all children of God, and fighting over religion is as much a sin as fighting over other things.

We still are required to follow the ten commandments handed to us from Moses. The only things we as gentiles do not follow are the laws that were given directly to the Jews in regards to food preparation and type, sacrifices and such. Through the rending of the veil and the splitting of the altar the new covenant gave us Grace in order to not have to be held to those particular laws. So it is not a new religion so much as an improved covenant.

this could be a stable question, although, i could say the bible doesnt difinitively portray Jesus as God. once you learn the hot testomony you will see a transfiguration of Jesus from one gospel to the different. What I mean by potential of this, is that biblical scholars could agree that Mark is the earliest of Gospels and John is the final...you will see that Mark portrays Jesus in plenty greater of a human way, shows a number of his obstacles and so on, and so does Mathew and Luke to an quantity. although John is thoroughly diverse. So Christians normally overlook with regard to the 1st 3 gospels and start up pointing refernces to John to objective and tutor his divinity such because of the fact the the 'i'm' sayings and so on. you will see that the gospel writers replaced the story of jesus as time went on. His tale became into like that of a snowball, the greater time more advantageous, the bigger the snowbal grew to grow to be. there is strategies of learn the gospels in parallel and you would be waiting to verify how the story more advantageous for the period of those Gospels. So, i could say, that the real historic Jesus could be chanced on interior the Gospel writings. The islamic View helps this actual historic Jesus, which did no longer upward thrust from the ineffective and is not any longer a trinity. i desire you chanced in this to be of a few use. Please digital mail me in case you prefer any references to this.

Jesus was a Jewish reformer. I agree with the above statement that it was Paul that opened it to Gentiles. Also, I believe it was Pauline Christianity that elevated Jesus to God's status and that the original Apostles would have understood Son of God and Messiah to mean something quite different. certainly in Galatians 1 and 2 and then early on in Hebrews there is evidence of this.

I think by reading what Jesus referred to in the New Testament was decentralisation of the Temple of God Jerusalem. In other words you don't have to go to a synagogue or church to be faithful to God.

Contained in the Old Testament the Jews carried the Sacred Ark around with them while in battle so they can pray to God.

Jesus commanded his followers to obey the laws of Moses. Never did he instruct them to leave them behind, that came from Paul.

And when Jesus came with clear proofs, he said, 'Truly, I have come to you with wisdom, and to make clear to you some of that about which you differ. So fear God and obey me.

He has prescribed for you the religion which He enjoined on Noah, and which We have now revealed to thee, and which We enjoined on Abraham and Moses and Jesus, viz., 'Establish obedience to God in the earth, and be not divided therein. Hard upon the idolaters is that to which thou callest them. God chooses for Himself whom He pleases, and guides to Himself him who turns to Him.'

“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! 50 I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! 51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. 52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
