i have my dog currently on two different products. worming for every 3 months and proheart for monthly protection against heartworms. problem is, i noticed he has fleas so we got a flea collar and spray but he is still scratching. if i was to change over to revolution which also prevents heartworm, can i immediately change over and ditch my proheart worming? will i still need to continue 3 month worming?

also, has anyone had an experience with this. switching over to something? and did it work?

Do not use flea collars, they don't work and they can be dangerous. Don't expect ANYTHING from a pet store to work.
Switching over to Revolution is a good idea - but be aware it is not a complete wormer, it only does roundworms. You probably can use it fairly immediately after any other product, but please do check this with your vet.

are you using oral proheart or injectable proheart?
1) proheart injectable was recalled by the fda and is not safe to use.
2) revolution for dogs is not effective heartworm treatment
3) flea collars are not effective either.
try a better flea control such as advantage or frontline and ditch the flea collar. your dog could also have flea allergy dermatitis or other allergies. if the scratching continues, see your vet.

I use revolution for my cat and he doesn't have a single flea. I live out in the country and this stuff definitely works. Before your vet gives you the revolution just ask him what you should do about changing over. You'll be very happy with this treatment compared to anything else you have used.

He may have a skin condition, not fleas.
