I'm not religious or anything but I think it was no accident the universe was created and we are here today. I think there was some sort of guiding evolution going on, like God creating the universe with scientific laws, but not completely letting it all run on it's own. It all seems very organized in many ways (things like atoms and cell structures) and not created by an accident or fluke.

If this guy said he was a christian, he's got some very mixed up ideas about who God is according to christianity. He may be a deist that believes God set the world in motion and then left it alone, whether creation was intentional or accidental makes no difference. According to deists God exists but has nothing to do with what happens in the world and could care less about it too. In other words God might as well not exist.
Now if he was speaking of evolution I can buy that. I believe that evolution can be accurately fitted into christianity and even the biblical story of Adam and Eve. But even then it's not an 'accident'. Evolution would be a very controlled means of populating the world used by God.
So I personally do not you can have an accurately based christian faith and say that the world was caused by an accident or by chance.

The account in the bible is just a story told by the leaders of the desert tribes who became the Jews. they had no scientific knowledge or the earth of the cosmos. The best knowledge we have at the moment suggests that the universe was started by a what is termed a "big bang." and it had been expanding since that time. This is still being investigated. As a result stars were formed and around planets them planets some of which were and are suitable to develop life and the earth happened to be one of them but no doubt there are others in the universe somewhere. Once started life evolved and is still doing so. All these things are being studied by universities and other bodies all round the world and new information is discovered all the time but there are still huge gaps in our knowledge to there is lots to do. Creationists like gaps because they can say "Oh look there is no evidence to show how we got from here to here so god must have done that." ~That is of course rubbish. the gaps are just waiting for the research to fill them

Does anyone else believe in God's creation
I can not believe anyone could not. Basic laws of science scream for a creator. Matter and energy can not be created or destroyed by any normal means. We know that the universe had a starting point. We are here, since matter can not be created, did it come from. Life can not arise from nothing. It just does not happen. Life ONLY comes from previous life. It can not originate on its on. There is no example of this ever occurring.
God and God only created all that there is. Nothing that is, that was or that will ever be, is unless God made it.

I think that God/Creator/Divinity is a force/energy beyond our ability to comprehend. So we have done the best we can in trying to explain Him/it. there are many religions and belief system, and whichever one believes is Right, and others are wrong.
We are limited in our thoughts and perceptions by our 5 senses, and even those are within limited frequency range. Example: elephants communicate in a sound decibel our ears cannot pick up.
Since Divinity is probably beyond our ability to perceive, it follows that we can't figure out much of His works. Even science changes. In western history we've had 5 different explanations (pre Galileo, Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Hawkings) of cosmology and the universe, and physicists are now working on a 6th.
When I am in the mountains, I am awed by God

On balance, I'd have to side with a divine creator, at least intelligent design.
The chances that everything, from the food chain, to my vital organs, to me being an independent sentient being, gravity, childbirth, plant life, sunshine, rain... and anything else around me that I may have missed.. the chances that it just happened - no rhyme or reason - just TUD-AH! takes more faith than the scientifically "sterile" version of evolution.
Yeah - amoebas got kinda bored of the sludge and took it upon themselves to get wavy arms, then they thought "Oh, the land looks kinda groovy - when it cools down, lets swim ashore, surely there will be something to eat -even each other"...then the fish through, "hey why should THEY have all the fun? I want in on some of this shore-leave stuff", got that whole quadruped thing going then thought "These scales are SO last era... and who needs four legs, surely two would get us around quicker and we could start with the whole `tools` thing.... "
..... and then the clever clever evolutionist said, "But if you throw in a few billion years and pooh-pooh those religious nut bags and just BELIEVE (no really) BEEEEELEEEEEVE, just make sure you have a lab coat and a few numbers to hand when you go to air on it!"
See my point.....

God created the world in 6 days, and He said it was very good.
God knew that we were going to sin, and so even before He laid the foundation of the world He made plans to redeem us.
The six days of creation can not stand for six periods of evolution (millions and billions of years). The Bible tells us that God made plants on the 3rd day, and then He made the Sun on the 4th day. If evolution was true (only micro-evolution is a science) then the plants would have to lived millions of years with out the sun, or the Bible is wrong.

I believe in God creating the universe and all in it, but that doesn't mean that I cannot also believe in evolution. It's not a one or the other issue.
I don't have proof of God's existence, nor do I see the need to find any concrete/scientific proofs. That is between me and my faith. Why the need to rationalise something that the other person clearly refuses to accept?

Just watched a Horizon programme about M theory, its a new string theory that proposes that the big bang came about when 2 parallel universes collided. If its right then God will need a new gap to live in.

It’s important that the word “design” be properly understood. That God has created a flawless design does not mean that He first made a plan and then followed it. God, the Lord of the Earth and the heavens, needs no “designs” in order to create. God is exalted above all such deficiencies. His planning and creation take place at the same instant.
