If you press and release your Windows key, the Start Menu will Open up. On the left side you will see a list of programs that you recently opened and at the top of this list is an area that you can drag programs to so they always appear there. I have my Internet Program in the top area.
Once the Start Menu is open, press the first letter of the name of the program you want to launch. If there is more than one program that starts with that letter, you have to press the letter more than once. Press enter.
So for me to launch my Internet Browser, I press and release the windows key, then Press i and my browser launches.

Well, you could hold the Windows button and press R...that will bring up the Run dialog. Type iexplore and press Enter. That will start IE.
