I appreciate the suggestions of years to stop at guys, but it has to be around the time of the initial Industrial Revolution. Just trust me on this one. :)

There were no revolvers in 1775. Pistols then were single shot barrel loaded, with a flintlock firing system.
Please, keep us posted as to how you make out upon your return (that is , once you get the sleeves untied from behind you on your nice white jacket).

I'll join you to go to 2776 and we celebrate the 4th of July. (I just want to make sure religion is outgrown by then)
Add> You've figured out my real plot. I'm sorry, but my intent is to destroy you to prevent you from going back in time. You see, 1775 is before the Salk vaccine and penicillin. You will bring back a tame virus to us, but will decimate early America. You'll wipe out so many people that the Mexicans will rule the Americas and have siestas all day. The technological revolution will never occur.

I would ask you to stop by 800,000 AD and pick me up a couple of Eloi bimbos, but you will not be returning to this time line anyway.
Currently reading The TimeShips by Stephen Baxter.

You need someone knowledgeable of science and physics because there are going to be problems of technology just living at that time that you really don't understand and you'll stick out. My husband would be great but I don't want him to like it so much that he stays.

Hell, why not go to 5 BC to 5 AD and look for Jesus. Then I can see if He really is wearing sandals. He is such a hippie
(Um, I am not sure about the years).
