I know many left-handed people who wear their watches on the right wrist. The watch gets less wear and tear that way.

There is probably no good reason, just a matter of chance, since there are people who do wear their watches as you do. It used to be that virtually all left-handed people wore their wrist watches on their right arm under the belief that the least-used arm would be a safer place than the arm that swings the hammer or that reaches into the tub of water (the rule comes from the days when all watches were fairly expensive and fragile - and none of them were water-proof). But where young people wear their watches these days seems to be based mostly on where their friends or the people they admire wear their watches, the same way as any other 'fashion statement" gains popularity. You are probably seeing the effects of a trend away from strict adherence to the "rule" that says left handed people should wear their watches on their right wrist because there is no longer a serious need to protect them. Like so many of the old rules, this rule has evolved into "Wear it wherever it feels comfortable."

I rarely wear a watch, but when I do, I too wear mine on my right wrist (and I'm even right-handed!) I don't know why really...it just feels "wrong" when it's on my left wrist.

I too wear my watch on my right hand. I am left handed and it's very uncomfortable to write with a watch on that wrist. I'm with you though, I very rarely see others with their watch on the right wrist.

If you are left handed then you usually wear your watch on your right wrist. If this is the case, there are more right handed people than left handed people so it could seem that you are the only one you know that does this. I am from a family where I am the only righthanded person and I also married into a family where there are more lefthanded people than righthanded! So, in my case, I'm the only one who wears my watch on my lefthand!
Now, if you're righthanded and wear your watch on the right wrist then you're even more unique!

Are you left handed? Since most people are right handed and apparerently, according to you, wear their wristwatches on the the left, it may be a sign that there is a natural tendency to wear the watch on the opposite side. I'm left handed and always wore a wristwatch on the left, so I can't say for sure what the tendency is and also because I never noticed what others were doing. I'm just offering a possible explanation.

Why worry yourself about it. I've seen plenty of people who wear their watches on their right hand. If I did wear one though, its just sort of natural to put it on my left wrist.

I think it's usually a left-handed/right-handed thing. I'm right-handed, and I would find it very bothersome to have a watch on my right wrist when I was writing.

So do I! I'm left handed and I find that I like my watch on the right arm better!
