Alex, that is what he does.

He WANTS our focus off of God.
But, you know how the Bible says, (paraphrase) "That every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord of all" ? OK---well, that is how we fight back to SHUT THE DEVIL UP. Just call on Jesus' name and sing a hymn--or pray and say Jesus' name and satan will leave you alone--because he HATES the name of Jesus--and he hates us and wants our destruction.

How can he do that, you say? Because he(satan) is very real and you are lucky that you KNOW THAT YOU KNOW that you are saved.

Another thing about satan---DON'T FINISH A NEGATIVE THOUGHT.
CHANGE YOUR THINKING---stop that thought mid-way---don't EVEN go there---just say to yourself---I don't HAVE to go there, because God loves me and He has plans for my future. God LOVES me and I LOVE GOD."

NOTHING can EVER change your being saved.
Just keep your focus on God.

I think Jesus was attacked so that He would know what we are going through--but He also shows us the way to get rid of the devil.
Through God's word.
Through church, and prayer, and reading God's Word---we learn how the devil has NO POWER over us--WHATSOEVER.

DON'T listen to these atheists.
They believe in God alright--but they just don't want to obey Him, so they say there isn't One--but WE KNOW,..............

Why do Jehovah Witness' say Holy Spirit is only a force, yet refer to it as a person ? I am confused about their current belief ... In a way you answered your own question. Who is the author of confusion? Who creates confusion? God is not the author of confusion. Satan is and he uses others to distribute his works. Satan wants us to believe that Jesus is not God, The Holy Spirit is not God and it is Jehovah, alone that is God. So they create an illusion a Jesus that is created and the Holy Spirit is an object to be used, like a tool. like a tool in his toolbox. Even the name of God they use is created by man. Getting more to the point about the Holy Spirit, they reduce the Holy Spirit into the terms and understanding of the laws of this world and not the spiritual world of Heaven. The spiritual world does not operate under the laws of the flesh, therefore it's easy for Satan to confuse some into believing in a different Jesus, holy spirit and god. You ask a very good question, how is it you talk to a force? Is that much like talking to a tree? Can you ask this active force to help you understand the Word? Or do you ask a Person, a being that can understand, respond and do something that you ask? They take God and make him conform to the rules of the flesh and not to his rules. They limit the infinite, they take that which is infinite and tell us that he can't do this he can't do this because they don't have the ability to understand, they bring him into the confines of the flesh. God is infinite and can do anything, he can be many persons, many beings if he wanted to. The bible clearly teaches us that the God Head is made up of three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and all three make up the one true God. Jesus stated that if you see me, you have seen the Father also for the Father and I are one. I am saying you can't see the Holy Spirit but you can hear him and you can feel him and if you have heard him and felt him you have heard and felt the Father. Not some active force that emanates from God but God himself.

Satan is the God of this world. We as True Christians are in the world.

We are told to "Resist" Satan, that is it. Nothing more then that. Don't call Him out or challenge Him.

Satan can never take away our Salvation, but he is in charge of the world, so he could temp us for sure.

Flesh vs. Spirit. - Being a christian is a battle, it is not always easy to follow the Holy Spirit at all times. We should, but it can be difficult and a stuggle sometimes.

Alex, Satan has been given mastery over the world until Jesus is come. He is given the permission to attack you becuase God is testing you.
Although your final sentence bothers me, God speaking you you does not mean you are a prophet, be very careful how you state this. He attacked Jesus because Jesus had a sinful fleshy body. Sin is not automatic, you have to chose to sin. Jesus never chose to sin. He was perfect in His walk all His days. Satan will tempt you because you are not God. Think about Job-he was perfect in all his ways, and because God ALLOWED Satan near him, he lost everything, even down to his own body. In the end, because Job remained faithful, God restored ten-fold what he had before.
Until Jesus returns, Satan can always attack you. If you are baptized in Jesus name, filled with the Holy Ghost by evidence of speaking in tongues, and live as Holy a life as possible for you, then you can resist him. The Bible says Satan MUST flee.

Being an integrity-keeper is not a simple matter; it calls for earnest prayer. Especially helpful are the words of the model prayer. In part, Jesus said: “Do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.” (Matthew 6:13) Jehovah does not tempt us to sin. (James 1:13) However, the Scriptures sometimes speak of his doing or causing things, when he, in fact, merely permits them. (Ruth 1:20, 21) By praying as Jesus indicated, then, we are asking Jehovah not to abandon us to temptation. And he will not do so, for we have this Scriptural assurance: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for you to be able to endure it.”—1 Corinthians 10:13.

If you are saved the Devil has no power over you.

But he is called the deciever and will tempt you and let you fall into sin.

Satan wants you to fall so you will not be used of God to pull others out of their path to hell.

Keep up the fight for Jesus. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
