Many of them already have.
They are no different than any other person. If you base personality solely on sexual preference, then I suggest therapy.

i agree with what Holly said, and yes,they have, but they are also no different than anyone else in terms of power. My dad was gay, but he didn't change the world any. Only that he taught me the meaning of diversity, and that my views of the world were not the ones I have now. I have changed alot since my dad was alive. Gay people are more tolerant than those who teach " family values," I have learned, and they can change aspects of the world, but not the whole planet. It may look better, but may not be changed because they are gay.

You basing this on sexuality is no different than them saying you're not good enough based on your sexuality. If you're talking politics, sexuality has Nothing to do with it. You could enjoy having sex with donkeys and be the best president this country has ever seen. And the next guy be a bi-sexual and be dumber than a bag of hammers. Sexuality has Nothing to do with Intelligence.

Now if you were talking about decor, then I'd probably agree with you.

They already have. But no more so than anyone else. The people who do the real changing are the one's who learn to let go of their irrational hatred of women, 'blacks', jews, gays, 'whites', protestants, catholics, muslims, fat people, hermaphrodites, Down's Syndrome, Bosnians, Serbians, Italians, French, Americans, different ethnicities etc etc.

Everyone who lets go of adopted and or/irrational bigotry and hatred earns a place in the advancement of our race.

Every time we fail to recognise an individual in favour of adopting a nationalistic/religious or racial/gender stereotype...we put a nail in our own coffins as a species.

Never forget the badges on people's arms in WW2, the stars, the triangles...they stood for bigotry, not the Jews and gays, who stood and died for freedom.

Will we make the same mistakes?

*Everyone* has the chance already. You don't have to be famous or powerful or influential, and it doesn't matter whether you're gay. You need only four things to make a good difference in the world:

To be generous in your outlook;
To be brave about what is important;
To be honest and candid in your dealings with people; and
To be able to see things clearly from someone else's view.

If you have these things, you can give other people courage, comfort, wisdom, truth without contaminating your gifts with the expectation of being important, appreciated, recognised or rewarded in return. Once you are doing that, you are doing good for good's sake.

In terms of what particular strengths gay people can contribute to these four things, let me say that my gay friends are notably strong in generosity, courage and honesty. Having faced the challenges of their own lives, they have learned to be brave in the world, to be honest with themselves and to be generous and support their friends.

But everyone can also grow from their weaknesses and the area my gay friends need to grow most is in being able to see the world clearly from a view outside their own.

Many of my gay friends are burdened with high levels of narcissism - which is a belief and a desire that the world is all about oneself.

My gay friends suffer eating disorders, bipolar disorders, problems in managing fidelity and sexual temptation, a huge need to be recognised and admired, and a big desire to be desired. They're obsessed with idealism and causes that actually reflect their own emotional deficits. Many of these disorders are tied closely to their narcissism. If I could give my gay friends a single gift, it would be the gift of realising that each of us is not so special, not so important and not central to the world - but still worthy of love anyway.

You might wonder is it a person's fault if they suffer from too much narcissism? Narcissism forms at a time when we're too young to recognise it or choose it. So no, it isn't someone's fault that it's there.

But as adults we can either recognise that something is holding us back and work on it, or ignore it and make it other peoples' problems. So like everyone else, my gay friends face that choice.

As a whole, people don't like or trust narcissistic leaders, because we expect our leaders to work for *us*, not for their own glory or self-love. I would certainly support any leader who was generous, brave, honest and humble enough to see clearly outside himself or herself, and who knew enough to know what I and the people I love need. It wouldn't matter to me if such a leader were gay.

Since God creates us and we've always existed in every generation, we've always made positive contributions.

We should be given the same opportunities as everyone else in this world. But being gay does not give us any special powers to solve world problems. It just makes us dress nicer as we try. ; )

Homosexuals are regular people. Some are good, some aren't.

Being homosexual only means you're attracted to members of your own gender.

It doesn't give you a special knowledge or power.

When we all realize that we will stop treating them differently....they're just like everybody else.

So you want to pick a bunch of people to change the world.

Ok, let's see how your advertisement works out:
